Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

From morning today it has been raining non-stop in Bangalore. Till around 8 pm it was just a drizzle, but after that the downpour has gained strength.

I had to go out briefly, and saw several food delivery executives going about their job relentlessly. For my own order it took almost double the time to get delivery because the delivery executives are continuously occupied.

A big shout out to them!

All the best to fellow Chennai-ites. This coming weekend is looking grim.

We are are going to be hiding behind sandbags, and hoping that the gate holds, and we can pump out fast enough.

I was hoping it fizzles out. I am travelling by train from Bangalore tomorrow morning and returning on Sunday. Hopefully it is not that bad that I cannot reach the railway station.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

I think it is going to be rough.

I am getting sick of the rain-fan kiddies on Kea blog, who think the fancy word pluviophile (or however it is spelt) is a licence to express thrills at impending destruction of property and life, caring only for breaking records. They'll probably be probably be cheering as they drown

But it remains a good source of up-to-date reports

On the contrary, it's raining insanely in the TN west interiors / south, more than what the models showed for 10 days within one evening.

If you've been following him regularly. He's been counting down to twnenty seventh, twenty fifth didn't have major rains on cards for Madras.

However Tuticorin district got hammered this morning. Tiruchendur got one fifty mm in less than three hours. It could be more as the day progressed.

PS: number keys don't work. hence the number in words.

Even the pessimistic estimate for this weekend is putting this year ahead of twenty fifteen, even if it doesn't rain post second December.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

Bangalore is witnessing rains in May like never before. Last 3 hours there has been very heavy rain. Bhpian Funkykar, Bhpian GreenDay and me drove to Airport now and there were many cars stranded just after the Yelahanka air force station due to water logging.

On the way back from Airport, close to Yelahanka, we noticed traffic jams close to 6 kms because of the water logging enroute to airport.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

This morning we have been greeted with stormy and windy showers in Gurgaon. The wind intensity is such that some have reported their doors / windows got damaged (due to cross ventilation pressure). Such a relief after facing intense heat this time in DNCR.

Though without pollution Gurgaon turns into a different city all together. Captured an image to add to this!

You seem to be living very close to me. Most of these buildings are visible from my balcony as well.
