Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

Guwahati currently renamed as the Venice of the East with knee to waist high water in major locations and lanes.
Heavy rainfall warnings for nest few days issued by District Administration and SDMA.. all schools, colleges to be shut. Its already pouring cats and dogs now. Have to convert my Aspire to a monster truck with blessings of my IIT - G neighbours, next to my hospital.

Lovely rain at Hebbal too! Left these two oldies of '60s in the rain, something which I very rarely do!

Bengaluru: Cars, bikes float in muddy waters

Source: Times of India

Quote:
The unprecedented heavy rain in Mahadevapura resulted in the flooding of basements at several apartment complexes in Whitefield. The sudden downpour in less than two hours on Friday night left the parking areas of many of these apartments submerged, with cars and bikes floating in muddy waters.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

An amazing night in Chennai! Some areas of the city got 130mm of rain, and most of it fell in just a few hours.

So glad we had just completed our most-recent round of flood prevention measures, and that the concrete was old enough (hopefully! A few days) to withstand partial immersion.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

Well, it’s that time of the year again. Yet another storm is making landfall within a few kms of me. As a person in a glass laden high rise, I’m worried what will remain in a few hours. All I hear is the rage of the hurricane while I cower inside my concrete cave. Hope everyone in Chennai is safe!

We're getting steady showers in Chennai due to Mandous cyclone and it's very pleasant here and rather cold so much so switching on the ceiling fan is also not required provided the mosquitoes leave us alone

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

Well, I'm fed up with Mandous already.

Somewhat relieved that it has not so far been a real (damaging) cyclone like Vardah, but there is waterlogging in our street and it's all a bit tedious.

It's raining here in Pune right now. And it's raining cats and dogs.

It started raining at 4AM today but everything was quiet for the duration of the day. 10 minutes back, the rain came back on and it's strong.

It is likely to be paaus-ing in Pune for the next couple of days, according to IMD. (Paaus in Marathi is rain)

"Trough from Madhya Maharashtra towards Indore" was what the IMD bulletin said.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

I searched the forum but didn't find a thread, so I'm posting here. After the Brahmapuram fire incident, Kochi received its first rain yesterday evening. Many reports are saying there is a high chance of 'acid rain.'

What precautions should be taken for a car after driving through acid rain?"
