Its not the monsoon yet. Pre-monsoon showers triggered by the meeting of the North Westerly hot winds hitting the cool south westerly monsoon winds. The SW winds have to beat back the North westerly ones to bring in the Monsoon. This year though winds are in place uptil Karwar, moisture is getting sucked away by a low pressure in the western arabian sea.. So a quiet SW monsoon start this year.

Sounds a little more than quiet though.

But thanx a tonne for the info. Now i know that there's more to a compass than just the 'N'. ( Ofcourse am talkin in a lighter vein here. )

No luck at Hyd so far, but my colleague at BHEL says it rained hard last night there.
Man, I'm eagerly awaiting the pitter patter raindrops to chuck my beer and switch over to good ol' single malt.

I can imagine. Roads are their slippery best just after the first showers; even my Vtec was sliping and sliding all over the place. A simple enthusiastic nudge on the accelerator and the front wheels started dancing. Was fun though

I think we should come up with an article on safe driving in the monsoons.

Agreed. Can you believe that Mumbai was cold until February this year?
