Re: It's raining in Bangalore!!

Heavy rains in Bommanahalli area too, though I heard couple of thunders, no sign of hail storms.
@praful: Hope your car will be fine.

Re: It's raining in Bangalore!!

Surprisingly after such a sudden hailstorm all is quiet now .. Infact at times I even saw the sun peeking on my way back from work.

Re: It's raining in Bangalore!!

Yesterday it took me 2.5 hours to reach home instead of the usual 1 hour, thanks to the rains!

Re: It's raining in Bangalore!!

Yesterday after the heavy rains, there was some serious water logging in East End Road in Jayanagar with couple of cars stuck in more than 2 ft of water. I was lucky as I took a detour to reach my place.

You are telling me!!! I am the person that was getting goose bumps awaiting calls from your Admin guys with complaints-I am looking after RMZ NXT-located in AM Office at the GF 1B-come over for a cup of tea.
It was the worst storm witnessed by me in Bangalore. Seen worse-cyclones in Orissa.

I was also in the same place...It was almost as if a Tsunami had hit the streets of Jayanagar 9th block.
Some 2-3 800s and omnis were stuck in the water and were causing some serious traffic blocks there.
I took detours and somehow came out of it..Surprisingly I was only 15 minutes late than normal.

Re: It's raining in Bangalore!!

on Good Friday, we were heading to my mother-in-law's place when we got stuck in the rains. either it was the cops diverting traffic in the wrong direction or it was the flooding of roads. the base of the ITC flyover (Frazer Town side) was covered with knee deep water; saw a few cars stuck in there! the Assaye road was flooded too. ironically, there's a storm drain right next to it, which seemed pretty empty. i guess all the years of patching the road has blocked the drain pipes leading to the storm drain!

anyways, long story short, it took us 3hrs+ to get from Banaswadi to Ulsoor that evening (usually takes 15mins)! don't understand why people go berserk when it rains and start driving every which way, causing even bigger problems!!

here's the Ulsoor roundabout that evening!

at this rate (flooded Bangalore roads), my next vehicle is gonna be a SUV fitted with a snorkel exhaust!

last evening, got heavy showers when i was entering BETL from ECp1, but it kinda mellowed down when i reached Koramangala. fortunately i reached home before 6pm; before all hell broke loose

there was power cut in the Banaswadi area for couple of hours due to the heavy rains (accompanied by thunder and lightning).

Am sure your Gypsy is not scared of a little water on the roads, unlike the numerous SUVs that i see avoiding the water like a plague!
What's the point in getting an SUV if one inch of water looks scary. I can understand if one is new to the road but I see EVERY SUV scared of water. Reminds me of the last scene in the Cars movie where the Jeep is giving a lesson in offroading to a Hummer and the Hummer is worried about getting dirt on his wheels.
