Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

Guess we have had some heavy rains in Chennai last night. Some areas have reported rains with thunder & lightning whereas my area (Chintadripet) had a very light rain for just couple of mins.

Hmm Thats Chennai, in Anna Nagar, all that I could sense of the rain this morning were a few spots on my dusty car giving it a new design. That said, found a bit of water logging near Meenambakam. How I wish for a down pour for at least a day or two, so as to bring the mercury down.

At home it still hovers around 35.

Well its normal monsoon season. More or less this will be the weather for next 2 months. Can't help if the storm drains are blocked.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

It rained crazy last evening in Bangalore. Before the rains the wind uprooted quite a number of trees with obvious loss of power in most parts of the city. In our area the BESCOM officials were 1 step ahead, cutting out power before the menacing winds started. Thank god for UPS that we were able to stay at home in relative comfort.

Here are couple of pictures taken from my car near HSR layout, please excuse the camera phone quality and focusing

It rained for a while in malad just now. Looks like monsoon will be reaching early to Mumbai. Will be a big relief from this heat.

Sleepless owing to an illness, i went up to the terrace. There was this white fibrous low clouds passing from the west: the precursor to the monsoons.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

What a downpour last night/early morning in CHENNAI ! Welcome thunderstorm after a long period of heat/sweat, and frustration with lots of parts of TN receiving their share of summer showers but Chennai not so.

We had some of the loudest thunder rolls at around 3-4am !

It continues to drizzle a bit, but it has not cooled down too much, so I guess once the rain stops, it will a hot day again.

It's raining here in Kammanahalli, Bangalore for last 30 minutes, though not a heavy downpour but still a normal consistent pour accompanied with thunders.

Cheers!

This was couple weeks back. Whenever it rains hard, multiple waterfalls get formed in my office ground. I walked in the rain with just a umbrella. I was completely wet below waist within 5 minutes.

Yesterday Hyderabad witnessed the heaviest rainfall of the year. It was so heavy that the roads have disappeared. Canals replaced roads.

It was the same here in Dilli, barely an hour of rain and water every where. It rained again this morning and is overcast right now.
