Wow! The fury in Bangalore last evening didn't even get a mention here? Surprising!

It's currently pouring here fairly heavy as I speak, just hope it's not as bad as yesterday.

Congestion everywhere and waterlogged roads. ORR came to a standstill, I left office from Cessna Business park at 10:30 PM and was able to reach home at Sarjapur road by 11:45 PM but a few colleagues who left at the same time reached their home around 1 AM

That's Bombay from a month ago, not Bangalore.

OT:

Isn't that actually some place in North America ? ( Miami?) I think the big plane is an A380 and we don't have those landing in India yet.

Its not from India, from USA after either Hurricane Harvey or Irma.
Towards end of video, one can see a couple of pick up trucks with beacons on roof. The overall profile doesn't seem to be from any Indian pickup.

EDIT : Its USA, hurricane Harvey.

Its raining very heavily in the Eastern part of Bangalore right now. Lots of thunder and lightning as well. Folks who are outdoors right now, please reach home/destination safely. I expect lots of water-logging tomorrow morning.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

Continuous rain since yesterday afternoon varying from light drizzle to heavy in near electronic city and other parts on the south of the city. the whole area is like a bathroom. Romantic as few may like to call it, Boring and dull for many. Whatever it is, it is just the perfect recipe for a traffic jam.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

It's been raining here in Pune since yesterday. Medium to heavy rainfall in almost all parts of the city. As usual its leading to slowing down of traffic due to congestions, water logging and some roads blocked due to falling tree branches.

Weather sites are predicting rains for today and tomorrow too with cloudy weather for the next few days after tomorrow.

You missed it? It was a cyclone as it came around the tip of India, and had a dramatic effect on Kerala and S. Tamil Nadu, including loss of life. It is dying away now. I gather that it was still able to spoil tourist life on the Goa beaches, though!

I think he is referring to the latest (another) one that's almost getting converted into a cyclone in east coast.

The one that visited TN and KL dramatically moved to MH and GJ coast and as per latest INSAT Image has weakened too.

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

I am not sure, but I think it is still Ockhi. I thought it was expected to weaken to nothing special by now, but it seems it is still (newspaper, so yesterday's news) strong enough to worry the people of Gujarat, and even interfere with political/election life. Wow, what a system, covering so much ground!

I'd be following the weather more closely, but I got bored, because the rain gods cancelled most of the good stuff heading my way, leaving to several disappointments.

Now NE monsoon seems over for chennai. Just hoping one more system may happen and bring us more water for our reservoirs. (but gods, no more cyclones, please!)
