Transporting Household Item from Bangalore to Mumbai

Hi,
One of my friend wanted to know if a truck can be hired to transport household items from Bangalore to Mumbai. Had bad experiences with some Packers and Movers during a relocation and don't trust these guys any more. When asked for a quote (double bed, dining table,3+1+1 cane sofa, washing m/c, refrigerator etc) they quoted around 14K -20K Base charges + 10% of the total value of items being sent.

I would like any pointers on this and the shifting is planned in the next 3 to 4 months and this query is a heads up as to find out the various options for such a situation.

Try vrl dude. You can put the fridge and washimg mc into a box and make them transport it. It will work out to be cheaper

Suggest VRL. A dedicated closed truck could cost you a minimum of 20/- per km plus driver charges. (Dont think they have many open cargo-bay trucks).

i just completed 2 relocations in the last 6 months bangalore - delhi and delhi to bangalore.
While going to del i went with reliable packers. Professional but screwed up my music system :(

This time i went with compact (or compack ) packers. Decent guy , reasonable. Let me know if u want his number so u can get a quote from him. Make sure the goods are insured. I took a 50k insurance just to be on the safe side.

I used Aggarwal Movers and Packers when i relocated from Blore to Chennai. Most of the stuff included my tv, bike, dining table, music system, furniture etc.

Items were packaged in cartons and wrapped in bubble wrap. It was insured too. Had no issues with damage/late delivery etc. Suggest you to speak to them. Cost me 13k -14k. Found them very professional too.

Agarwal Movers and packers are the best and reasonable rate i believe.Few office items shifted last month from Chennai to Bangalore with proper packing.
