Close Cobra Encounter!! - see pic!

hi All,

Last week i was off to Vedanthangal, a photoshoot after a long time.
I came across this Indian Spectacled Cobra in close range, and managed a few pics. here is one of them!

@M_S, lucky enounter, and that you were able to get a shot like that.

Was reading your note on Flickr. May be you could have checked using your camera for visual signs of injury. Hope no one killed it.

I searched inch by inch.
He was ok on the upper side, dunno if he was hurt on the scales(bottom). Wonder no one killed him, atleast believing some superstition!

We tried calling the forest department, and got one number behind the other, but no help! [they said they cant call because they had only incoming on their office lines??!!]

Hey Nitin,

Here is another shot that is looking at my lens!
I was prepared to go a little near if there was less crowd.
I was scared of the guys with lungi near me than the snake! Every second I was wondering when these guys would throw a stone or stick the snake to threaten it!

If it was not moving for 4 hrs i doubt if it was a real one or a dummy,lol.just kidding buddie but 4 hrs is a long time for a cobra to stand still.
