re: The IPL Thread (Fantasy game league details on pg 238)

Virat Kohli should be the last person complaining about people's behaviour. He himself is not a saint.

He has conveniently forgotten his spat with Gautam Gambhir while making the 'Playing for India' comment. Obviously when he wears India colors folks on Indian grounds are going to support him. In this case he was playing an IPL match on Mumbai's home ground. So why was the crowd reaction so surprising for him. He should have called back Rayudu to gain respect rather than complaining about the crowd behaviour.

Well, at least the IPL governing council did a good thing shifting playoffs from Chennai to Delhi.

Yes, it was a good decision, but what good would that do really , except for MI and malinga, too late.

I know its unthinkable but it has very much happened! There are more than a few articles on the web.
Whether it will happen again or not is difficult to say since he is in the twilight of his career, the expectations will always be there but somewhere at the back of their mind the public knows that we won't probably deliver!

Well, Gayle may not repeat his 175 again, but if he is one time player, he wouldn't have scored close to 500 runs this season & previous seasons. And also he wouldn't have 2 triple 100s in test cricket. Btw, what exactly is Gayle's place, as shown by MI?

Dhawal Kulkarni was intent on making the match more interesting by bowling waywardly, good thing he somehow managed it else Ambani junior might have eaten him up for breakfast!

He cannot smash good aggressive fast bowling at his throat. Just check his big bash stats, tells a story. Full credit to malinga and Johnson.

re: The IPL Thread (Fantasy game league details on pg 238)

MI managed to win the game against the Kings XI by a whisker. The way Rohit Sharma batted in the last few overs of MI innings make me wonder whether he willingly plays bad when selected for the national side. The ease with which he was lofting the ball over the fences, why does he fail in the international circuit.

The other worry which MI had was Malinga not bringing his ferocity to the game for which he is known.

re: The IPL Thread (Fantasy game league details on pg 238)

I am confused about one thing. In yesterday's match, Pollard was recalled after checking for a no ball with the third umpire. Why did the umpire check with the third umpire for a no ball? Is there any new rule that the umpire has to check for no ball for all the wickets?

Isn't that the mistake of the umpire that he did not spot the no ball in the first place? If pollard was not out on that ball, the umpire would not have checked with the third umpire and the batsman would have been denied a free hit.

Either they should check every ball or they shouldn't

International cricket is not IPL unfortunately for him. He's in hibernation for the entire year except these 2 months when he suddenly finds form!

Don't think so. But this is happening far too frequently this IPL thus causing wastage of time!

This Dinda, the higher he jumps the faster the ball races off the bat! The ease with which the batsman are sweeping him & reverse sweeping as was the case today, he should no longer be called a fast bowler!

In today's IPL tie b/w RCB and PWI, De Villiers was the difference. That last over took the team that extra mile that was needed for the Win. Uthappa played brilliantly today, and I miss his presence in the RCB side. It will give them balance.

Will Pujara play this season?

re: The IPL Thread (Fantasy game league details on pg 238)

The match between MI and Sunrisers Hyderabad was a tame affair with MI submiting themselves at the hands of some extremely good bowling by Ishaant Sharma and dale Steyn, add Amit Mishra to the list of bowlers who troubles the likes of Rohit Sharma and Keiron Pollard. Pollard was hopelessly trying to connect to the ball and just wasnt able to hit the ball.

Whats happened to Chris Gayle after that mind boggling 175 against PWI. Y'day I thought history will repear itself but Pune had Gayle under the sheets for quite some time and got him out early. Has Gayle be warned not to murder the bowling attack of any franchise? Even Dr Mallya's presence yesterday did not have any effect on Gayle to go ballistic.

Absolutely, he is a very special player. Many play the shots that he does, but the difference is that AB watches the ball till it connects with his bat. Those were some unbelievable shots. The look on Dinda's and Donald's face was priceless.

In the 2012 edition, AB took on Dale Steyn in a similar fashion and carved around 30 runs off one over. That is still fresh in my mind.

With all the teams concentrating on getting Gayle, guys like Tiwary and Kohli are making merry and AB is just slipping under the radar too, not that any plan will be good enough to stop him, he is a freak.
