^if you are using airtel or jio, then hotstar streaming as part of their TV apps. Ofcourse casting is not allowed, so i had to buy their 299 sports package which is valid for a year.

I only have Amazon fire stick. What's the best way to get IPL? One option is hotstar as there is an hotstar app on fire stick. Any other better option(or cheaper option).

Truly pathetic service from Hotstar website. Video buffers every minute or so, even at the lowest resolution. And I have a 20 mbps connection. No response at all from their support team, by mail or from their FB page. Anyone else facing this issue?

Streaming from the android app as well as from the website is working perfectly fine for me.

It was indeed a fantastic start to this edition of the IPL. Although I currently live and work in Mumbai, I'm a self-confessed Dhoni (and, by extension, CSK) fan. I do feel for the Paltan, however. Must have been a tough one to swallow, somewhat reminiscent of how the India team used to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the '80s.

Having said that, I think this IPL needs CSK to shine, after one of the biggest brands of the tournament (with one of the most committed fan followings) was left out in the cold for the past two years.

Objectively (can one ever be "objective" about cricket when the team you follow is involved??!) most cricket fans would be glad that the top-billing of the opening match not only live up to but exceeded all expectations.

Yesterday I watched both the IPL matches on my LED TV via chromecast, and yes through HOTSTAR.

It's free and no buffering at all.

Yeah. Before I got the fire stick I was using hotstar with Chromecast and the combination is quite smooth. And hotstar let's you "cast"... So... Nothing more needed.

But is it free? Really? I thought it allows you 10 mins only.

Yes. It is FREE. I enjoyed complete match yesterday also.

That's really strange!

May be it's possible for me since I'm using Hotstar through Jio Tv App & I'm on Jio prime subscription. Not sure though.

So, if I watch through Airtel tv, then I can watch the match. But that does not allow me to "cast" on tv.

There is an option of casting the entire screen, but having used it many times it's very buggy, and whether it plays on HD or not depends a lot on how good your phone is. So on the whole I did not find this to be a good option.
