re: The IPL Thread

Really perplexed with Hardik Pandya's Captaincy. Not sure what the role of Nabi is in the team if he isn't going to bowl! And he only comes out to bat at no.8. And everyone has been hailing him as a brilliant captain based on the past 2 seasons.

Likewise, but one can't help but get engulfed in the euphoria that surrounds him these days

From Russel covering his ears to Mrs Curran showing decibel levels on her smartwatch alerting her to potential hearing loss it's all amazing to behold whenever he comes out to bat.

Good for the game.

At GT, lot of decisions are taken by Nehra and Kirsten. My thoughts on playing Nabi is for Rohit & Ishan to play fearlessly as MI bat deep. HP is feeling the heat but he has become so thick skinned that it won't affect him. He is building wealth for an early retirement from Internationals and continue playing IPL.

I understand the batting depth part but its not that MI have a very strong bowling unit! Apart from Bumrah nobody is looking like getting a wicket. In one of the games Shreyas Gopal only bowled 1 over being a specialist spinner while Nabi has barely bowled any.

SRH at 125/0 in powerplay. As a srh supporters am absolutely joyed after years of mediocrity but at the same time as cricket fan this is sad. Everything is going out of ground. What are bowlers suppose to do unless batsmen makes mistakes.
I don't think we can score that much in mobile/pc games

Absolute carnage in Delhi by the Sunriser’s openers. 125 in 30 balls. It’s a small boundary still most sixes were big.

Sorry unable to edit now, it was 125 of 36 balls.

Now with flurry of wickets, it’s interesting to see how much they can score from here. Good opportunity for Nitish too with some 7 overs left.

These high scores have made IPL so boring and simply ridiculous. Don’t know what a bowler is supposed to do in these conditions. In between, any idea why DC couldn’t hit the big shots in last 10 overs, before that they were fighting well. Did the pitch become tough for batting in second half? Was there no dew?

re: The IPL Thread

Kuldeep & Axar did really well to pull things back after SRH raced to 125/0 in 6. Absolutely loved the stomach for the fight shown by both. Brain fade decision by Delhi to make the Kotla pitch flat as the boundaries are smaller than even Chinnaswamy & Wankhede. They should go back to spin friendly Kotla, especially with Kuldeep & Axar in good form.

Have to give credit to Head & Abhishek Sharma, despite the flat pitches. Both have played fearlessly, getting SRH to spectacular starts. Hope Abhishek gets the India call up soon, he's one of the rare openers who can bowl too.

Pant was exposed by slower, back of the length balls outside the off stump and ended up playing a match losing innings coupled with the decision to send Lalit Yadav over Axar Patel.

Why Hardik is booed, comes 6 down in a crucial match, against RR.

MI's stupid decision making this idiot a skipper.

re: The IPL Thread

Yet another thrilling tale in the adventures of Captain Courageous Pandya. You think he was cowering in the dugout when MI were 3 down for 20 or 4 down for 40, but he was actually plotting his main character entry (like MSD) after side characters Tilak Varma & Nehal Wadhera had set the stage with a 100 run partnership.

RR were expecting to see Tim David given only 4 overs were remaining, but Captain Courageous' masterstrokes of momentum killing tuk tuk, master tactician like use of both reviews on himself and finally dead-padding a full toss plumb in front of middle stump ensured all of RR's well laid plans were.......... successful.

re: The IPL Thread

How about this team for the T20 World Cup?

1. Yashashvi Jaiswal
2. Abhishek Sharma
3. Sanju Samson (c)
4. Riyan Parag
5. Shivam Dubey
6. Rinku Singh
7. Axar Patel
8. Yuzi Chahal
9. Kuldeep Yadav
10. Jasprit Bumrah
11. Mayank Yadav

IPL does help but somehow the selections are more prejudiced than accounting for form.

Shivam Dubey is no bowler and three spinners might not happen in those pitches. Hardik Pandya confidence has been shattered, hopefully he comes back stronger but we definitely need him in the team and in playing 11 to bring the balance. You can not leave out SKY, he is an absolute beast in T20. I don't mind leaving out Kohli and Rohit though.

1. Yashashvi Jaiswal
2. Abhishek Sharma
3. Sanju Samson
4. SKY (VC)
5. Shivam Dubey
6. Rinku Singh
7. Hardik Pandya
8. Ravindra Jadeja
9. Axar Patel
10. Jasprit Bumrah (C)
11. Mayank Yadav

The reserve can be
Kuldeep, Yuzi, Parag, Mukesh Kumar, Ishan Kishan

This will give the captain 6 bowling options and we will bat very deep.

re: The IPL Thread

Watching IPL this season reminds me of my childhood where I used to play EA sports Cricket game on my PC with some cheat codes enabled that allowed me to hit any ball that I chose for a Six or a Four by pressing a button while the cheatcode was enabled.
