Raj. Royals truly played brilliantly. Not many risks and they still hit 197 !
Warne has been a great captain. Seriously great that after being underdogs they have one 4 matches in a row ! Hats off!

Yuvraj puts one across Laxman !! he wins by 7 wickets. DC inspite having decent team is faltering somewhere.

In the previous match Set MAX bungled up big time and it meant match was not covered for first 30 minutes . So a quick run, direct hit and the field umpire puts his finger up, because 3rd umpire was not available . Sehwag thought he was in but umpire gave him out only because it was a direct hit.

Big match coming up - Delhi vs Chennai: The battle for top of the table.
If Delhi win they go to the top. If Chennai win, they retain the top spot.

As usual, with their devastating batting and accurate bowling, Delhi Daredevils hold the edge.

Rajastan Royals continue to impress. This time their overseas players contributed just 9 runs in a total of 196 - that is 187 runs were scored by local players. Most of these were ground shots and relatively risk free. Even a blaster like Yousuf Pathan put his head down and hung in there. All players showed a lot of temperament. I won't be surprised if this is due their coach cum captain, Shane Warne.

Talking of Bangalore, they need find a good enough opening pair. Till now they are trying a new combination every match. What they need is a powerful hitter at the top and a finisher in the end.

Every team has atleast one good opener:
Chennai - Hayden
Hyderabad - Gilchrist/Gibbs/Afridi,
Delhi - Sehwag/Gambhir,
Punjab - Sangakara/Katich,
Kolkata - Gayle/McCullum/Ganguly,
Mumbai - Jayasuriya/Tendulkar
Rajastan - Smith but seem to have groomed local talent.

The only players who have opening experience Bangalore have got is Jaffer & Chanderpaul. But they don't seem to fit into this format of the game.

Also, unlike other teams Bangalore team lacks a hitter down the order who can play the big shots and close the required rate gap or score those extra 20 odd runs which matter. Now that Ross Taylor is gone, best they have Boucher.

This is where Mumbai have an edge - they have Nayyar & Pollock, who can play the big shots.

I think it is getting more interesting off the field than on it.

Hayden batting for Bhajji?

Warne having a crack at Dada. I may have some sympathy for Dada on the catch issue, but none whatsoever on his easy going (I mean late latif) laid back attitude on punctuality.

The problem with Deccan Chargers is the CAPTAIN. What a pathetic display of captaincy. His filed placements are awful.

You mean he's worse than the Captain of RCB?

Perfect team for Laxman is Bangalore. If Laxman was in auction I am sure Bangalore would have picked him up . Laxman is ideal vice captain for Dravid .

Dravid has a great team for tests. In the last two games they have been really close to winning. Except the first game, they have restricted the opposition scores.
Look at the DC team. They should have been the favourites. Give Gilchrist the captaincy and see the turnaround. But then, VVS might not be in the playing X1

Rohit Sharma continues to impress with his batting. Another calculated attack on the bowlers. sadly, he had none to give company. Deccan and Bangalore have been gross under-achievers so far.

The news is that Sachin is fit to play and make his IPL debut. Will this boost the morale of the MI who managed to win just one out of their 5 games so far? Remains to be seen.

Is Dravid accepting the fact that his team is a Test Team? saw some interview in TOI today and he feels only that 1 big over is posing a problem for RCB else they would have won couple of games.

Why cant the RCB team also get that 1 big over when needed. The middle order is not firing and the openers are slow to take off.

Who is there to bat? Only Ross Taylor in the playing Eleven was firing. Others are test players. The only change the captain can think and for a turnaround is including Misbah. Now, with Ross also gone, god he BRC. They should not finish at the 8th place with the kind f hype and the amount put in by Mallya.

Agree with you snaronikar what i was highlighting was even now Dravdi does not accept the fact that RCB is a Test Team more than T20.

Misbah should get a look in now as Ross is off, but the last 2 games he could have kept Kallis on bench and got Misbah in which he didnt do.

Also getting Sunil Joshi (almost 40) to play in a T20; he get wacked for 20 odd in a over plus no contribution from him with the bat. I agree he was a good player durning his hey days but does not fit into the scheme here.

Mr Mallya seems to be too busy with throwing parties even when we are losing.
