Do NOT buy FINEX plasma TV

hi
this is to warn everybody AGAINST buying FINEX Plasma tv..
they are priced 15k lower than others and tempting to buy but quality is poor & after sales service is terrible.
our 42in plasma, bought for 80k less than 2 years ago developed some problem which the service people couldnt be bothered to diagnose correctly & fix. We tried for a week and they just kept saying will caall & tell u in some time.. but they never ever called back; so we had to call them everyday! finally they said no point in you calling us, we dont care to fix your TV.. at the most you can do a buyback and get 12k off for the TV in exchange for a new one. I suspect they never bothered to diagnose & had the attitude that "this customer is stuck having spent 80 on this brand and have nowhere else to go."

i told them i will go to consumer court as you are giving no service, to which they cheekily replied saying - it will take so long & be such a hassle for you..

finally we have had to trade in that TV for a new panasonic . got 14k for the finex .. very sad given that it was not even 2 years old and lost 66k on it!!

we had bought thru sony mony who are also a pain to deal with. their phone numbers are always "out of service..temporarily disconnected etc" and have now stopped carrying finex & washed their hands off our problem altogether.

What has happened to concept of QUALITY & AFTER SALES SUPPORT these days?

I have had similar troubles with well respected brands like Nokia phones & Honda activa. Nobody seems to care for customers etc anymore!

Lodge a complaint in the consumer court. Take them to task. Why let them get away with it. Its your hard earned money dude.

Brian, my 1st thought, why did you spend 80K!! 2 years ago on a brand that many will hear for the 1st time on tBHP through you? Not trying to hurt you more, but in a time when you choose Maruti over TATA, I can understand if you choose Panasonic over Akai, Sony over Aiwa, or Samsung over God Knows What else. But Finex. Sorry. Gather courage and try to take them to court, But I am afraid its too late on your part as you no longer have the TV in your hands.

Let this be a lesson to all our friends... Live with a affordable - Reliable product than Risk and go through the PAIN of a care-of-platform brand!

Ps - i just goggled FINEX, these guys are no where to be seen, Am i right? In this case who will you charge Legally. May just be a waste exercise.

Finex! That's a plasma TV brand? Never heard of it.

When you are paying 80k, you have to pick a branded item. They will at least have a proper support system.

Hey is I have never heard of this brand...google also gives nothing...80 grand for an unknown brand, who are the importer for this brand....or is it some small company in India which gets TVs from china and sticks their name on it???

The closest i've heard to FINEX is Finolex. This is totally new to me. Must have been someone's figment of imagination. Dont let them go. Brand might be unknown but Sony Mony is a good palce to begin with !!

Did you record your calls on the phone; to provide them to consumer forum as proof. It helps while on call you press that record facility. They are so easily trapped in the net.

of course i ve learnt from the mistake.. the reason we bought finex in the first place was it was bein sold at sony mony electronics..
though now just want to put the episode behind us & move on with life.

by the way, facing hassle now trying to get the panasonic wall mounted! now having to call panasonic & scheduling appointments which they just dont bother to keep.

this is terrible ya! Ive always dreamt of a plasma tv, just love the flat tvs and have been tryin to persuade dad to get one but if such things happen he will get too upset with them (and me) he just hates poor quality
