I see lots of TN, DL, MH, AP, KL, WB registered vehicles in Bangalore. If police really harass them then they would have been forced to get KA plates.

Thats true of most visitors. I suggest you sign up for Kannada speaking classes and sensitized on local culture.

Further, the only thing I can say in Kannada is "kannad goitta illa!"

But he was asking for it. His family will not allow him to use 2 wheeler you see. Anyways, M800 parts are more cheaper than Ford Ikon.

I second that. Not that one cannot manage with Hindi/English in BLR, with Kannada does help in dealing with auto guys, cab guys etc.

Will be more than willing to help you guys out. Tell me what all words you want to know. Will translate into kannada (with spelling in English). My adivce is open a thread in Shifting gears. It might be helpful to many people to learn the local language.

Samples:
Haeggiddira (How are you?)
Change illa (No change)
Idu Ellige hogutthe (where is it going)
Dhanyavadagalu (Thank you)
Ideya (Is it there?)

@amtak - Coverage wise, depending on where you stay a provider maybe good or just sucks. Vodafone maybe good in one area, but just not usable elsewhere. All providers drop calls in the peak times. So select one that gives you the best plan. Will depend on what company you work for.

And another- "maathu tirugisa.beda" = "Don't change the topic".

Let's stick to the topic, guys .. and help Amtak settle down. We can start a separate language thread.

Sid,
I am trying for Kormangala in sharing. If that does not work out, BTM is the other option.
