Increasing the resolution of an existing image is not going to make it any sharper.

It's virtually the same as 'zooming' into that image within your image viewer.

What size poster are you trying to print?

That artwork has been created by a designer who goes by the name of "dangeruss" and contributes on deviantart. It's actually a Vexel graphic created entirely in photoshop (except the wheels that were made in 3d studio max). There was no Flash involved. Not sure why he is claiming that he made it. Here are the links to the original artworks-

Trying to print a 2 1/2 ft X 4 Ft poster. Need a really sharp image. Basically its a graphical report (pie chart , line graph etc) generated from an application. Will I be able to get a better screen shot if I use a display of higher resolution ? Say a HD monitor?

If you're taking a screenshot, then yes, settings your display resolution as high as it can go (it will be higher if using a higher resolution monitor) will give you a better resolution image.

Alternately, the software application should have an "Export" option. (Or if not, try "Save as") and see if you can export to a PNG format (its sharper than JPG).

In the export options, set the 'DPI' high. Try 900 dpi and see if that gives you a large enough image.

Re: Photoshop/Digital Art thread

Hey guys,
I have been working on the video game, Forza Motorsport 5, which is the launch title for Microsoft's next gen console, Xbox One. I was a cinematographer for the game's cinematic sequences. Below are some of my virtual cinematography & Direction of Photography work from this game. All these renders are real time renders, from the Xbox one console. Nothing is pre-rendered in any 3d software. Hope you enjoy these.

The original post is about one month old, so the OP probably does not have use of my response anymore but in the hope that others may benefit from it below is my work flow in similar circumstances.

Print to pdf using CutePdf Writer and import the resultant pdf into Photoshop at desired dpi or total pixel resolution. Crisp lines almost always guaranteed. Everybody may not have access to Photoshop, so there are options of printing directly to images file. The following links came up on Google search (I have not tried any of the linked software):

Re: Photoshop/Digital Art thread

I'm looking to custom paint my bike, I have some ideas but no clue how to do it on a photoshop, can someone help me add couple of options. I don't need anything to fancy to be Photoshopped, just want to see how it looks before I start working on the paint job. Or if there is some easy steps on how to do it in photoshop(or any other tool) will be helpful

Mods: Do delete if this is not appropriate on this thread.

Not sure if you want "graphics" or you are just looking at a different colour.

If it's the latter, using a the "Replace Color" options should work well.

That's kinda what i meant by graphics (ie. printed graphics on the paintwork).

Why don't you post some nice and high-res pictures of your bike here.

Also, if you post flat images of the custom theme you want, someone might take up the challenge and composite the two for you.

thats how much I know bout graphics and painting

This is not my bike, but its same model don't have access to my bike pics now.
I want to have Indian Flag colors on this, nothing too complex as I will be hopefully doing it myself.
Option 1) To have flag colors all over the bike similar to Force India F1 car
Option 2) Have Indian flag color on the under hood alone like on the aprilla below

Re: Photoshop/Digital Art thread

Was just messing around and ended up with this (wasn't exactly reading your instructions - sorry). Will give it another proper shot after a week or so. Really busy at the moment.
