Awesome pics everyone.

I am also planning to join the league (Going for Ex). Not sure how soon I can do this, as I have been told that the colour black is not readily available in Delhi.

My wife says lets go for white but as good old uncle Ford once said "you can have your car in any colour as long as it is black".

Getting a really good deal from HDFC on the Financing part, but not so sure about which dealer should I go for. Any suggestions.

Also how much of a difference does the absence of ABS makes to the overall driving experience. Can this be fitted later.

Safari rocks.
ABS makes a difference in wet & slippery conditions. It prevents the wheels from locking up thereby allowing effective steering all through the maneuver.
ABS cannot be fitted later.
And when it comes to a Safari, its best that you get whatever you want as factory fitted to save you warranty issues later. And do buy that extended warranty. Its as important as the diesel you fill in the tank.

Cheers,
J

Safari LX with Silver coloured cladding & bumpers

Visited Tafe Reach in Chennai and found Safari LX now comes with silver painted cladding and bumpers.
In LX the ORVMS also silver painted with appropriate body colour caps. Also LX has dual coloured seat fabric.

The sales person told From Now on:
LX with silver painted cladding & bumpers
GX with Goldern painted cladding & bumpers
EX & VX with body coloured cladding & bumpers.

Just before yesterday ~8:30pm, was cruising at 90-100 kmph on fast lane of NH4 near Karad, blinded by high beam of on coming vehicles, suddenly I felt something simmering in the dark, before I could realize saw a tractor hauling a farm attachment (hal) w/o any reflectors waiting on fast lane to take a U turn... No room to steer, applied full brake, Safari stopped in lane meters before those killer jaws. Thanks to ABS. If you envisage highway driving, go for ABS. You will not regret ~50k that you spend extra.

Vx & Gx are beyond my budget. If I had that luxury I would have gone for 4X4.

As I am very much a highway person. Already toured better part of north India on my Alto, Manali, Dharamshala, McLeodgunj, Auli. Hope to go on the Manali-Leh-Srinagar trip some time next year, Safari (God) willing.

Guess would just have to be a bit more careful.

Thanks Happywheels and Devil-on-wheels!

Thanks bunny, but you won't find me in the factory on Tuesday. Am down with suspected measles. Stuck at home for the time being. This is so boring and irritating!

Hey guys any idea if the new ORVMs on the Safari GX & VX with blinkers replace the earlier ones directly.

What about the sockets? - they obviously had to add the blinker connection so is is a single socket for powering the mirror movement as well as the blinker or are there two sockets, one for the blinker and one for the mirror movement (if there are two sockets then getting hold of one of the new mirrors and placing in on the older safaris would be very easy.

(Of course hard for anyone who has not had the new mirrors broken / opened up to know.)

Congrats Param,
Your beast looks great. Alloys are really cool.

Please post a pic of the IRVM when the reverse camera is on. I think they are now installing much LCD screens in the mirror.

Also are you able to lock the vehicle with the remote at night without the
follow me home lights coming on.

Congrats once again.
