That maybe good news, because in the current one being seated sideways causes pain on a long drive. Besides, at the back even not-so-tall people have to sit with the head touching the roof lining and even in some cases with the neck having to bend downwards. But good for kids and easy accessibility.

The current rear layout gives good access to the rear seating and is better most of the time but really speaking the rear is reserved only for kids. the hight is too low for an adult to sit there for long as you need to bend to avoid touching the roof. If the seats were to be like those in the sumo, endy, fortuner, then the hight issue would be sorted out but the seats would become too low and would be hard to sit on for other reasons. This is universal problem with ladder chassis suvs.

Nope, there are many ladder chassis SUV's from the past as well as the present that do not have the headroom problem for the third row. In the Indian context Pajero, Scorpio etc. However I guess we are geting offtopic in this lovely thread.

We used this machine in every sorts of roads recently. Our daughter enjoyed more jumping here and there in it. One funny thing is max we travelled when we visited native place for 2 weeks vacaton till date was 1500km. This time its more than 1800km I guess its because we travelled in Safari! It consumed 200ltrs of Petrol.

Ravi.

@Ravi,

Congrats!

Two surprises, rather shockers that I got from your post:

1. Petrol??? WOW!!! I reckon, the vehicle is in prime condition and hence your interest, even though it is a petrol.

2. (This is even better) I noticed a sticker on the side that says "4x4"! WOW!!! (again) Great!

How are you placed next weekend? Planning to be in Bangalore or is there a plan to add another couple of KM's to the Safari? If in town, how about coming down to the OTR?

@TSK:

The photos of the Safari covered in snow is beautiful! So, did you face any starting issue after this? (not sure if I read any of that concern in your ownership / travelogue thread)

TSK Admire your courage to go to such unforgiving territory. The visuals and photographs are tremendous, the first thought that comes to mind is what if?

The safari is stated by many to be unreliable, but the places that you and a lot of others have visited make me wonder? What's the backup.

There is a difference between Nigglebitliy and Unreliability. And Khoksar can hardly be said to be "remote!"

tsk, you have been updating some of the best pics from hills of north. how much time do you take in preparing for each picture ? I have always been lazy getting out of the car and going for a distance before clicking that pic.

have been enjoying your pics. so this is the second time in a year you went to Rohtang ?

I cant see front bullguard, have you removed it ?

Petrol Power is also a preffered choice of Nature/forest/ wildlife enthusiasts, for maintaining silence while getting up close. Diesel clatter drives animals away.
