@ACM and @Arun

I think you guys should try raising the front suspension height. Its a small adjustment and will enhance the posture of the Safari.

Cheers,
Adi

Actually got my suspension ht, reduced to the lowest possible just 9 months back, so that there is easier ingress / exit for my parents and in-laws.

Even at the lowest position there is no chance of hitting any spead bumps, but the ride is more stable on mumbai's Easter Express way that I drive on for 40 kms (both ways) each day our of the 70 km daily commute.

Nice pictures. But i noticed there are no side graphics(on doors) on your car that used to come with this safari

I noticed similar thing with your car too, have you removed side graphics of your car. and are they available in market.

The Car was shipped with NO graphics when I bought it in 2001. I added the Limited edition graphics a week later and had them for a couple of years till a rickshaw banged agaist the rear side quarter pannel and spoilt the graphics.

So then had the entire graphics removed.

A year later added the current 2004 Ex graphics, now these developed bubbles a couple of years later and I had them removed in 2006.

No graphics since then.

One can get the graphics for anything between Rs. 1000 - 1500.

Thanks JK. I was on the phone , my son clicked it.

Did my second free service. No major complaints. I have couple of queries to ask.

1. Fuel Filter - Rs 2163. Is this so costly. Generally its under Rs 500 for other vehicles.

2. They charge me labor charges - STDCHK - Rs 360, Break Cleaning Rs 225.

What are are covered under the preview of Service ? (Free Labor)

I got a service bill for Rs 5211/-. Apart from above oil 1625/-, oil filter 161.78.

BHPians clarify.

Parts price look fine. Why did they charge you for labour?

:eek:Fuel filter is so costly at least 10 times than a TCIC version. For my car fuel filter costs 200 rs only(Safari TCIC).

And oil that you got is at a lower price than me. I got it every time for 230rs/litre that costs a total of 1800rsclap:

Exactly thats my query. When tcic filter cost Rs 160 why 2.2 for Rs 2400. Even the SA is also not explaining. Can anyone can Clarify more on this .

NOTE :
MOD I ACCIDENTELY POSTED THESE POST IN THIS TOPIC. REQUEST YOU TO MOVE THIS TO SAFARI PROBLEM/ISSUES POST.

Yep the filter price for 2.2 mentioned is absurd - but this is not for this thread.

Mercedised, the opera house tata spares shops do keep these stickers plus accessories shop can source it for us, just go to the accessories shop and ask for it to be procured. (They are in a range of colour depending upon the car colour.) Even TASS can procure it - there would be a lead time in all cases.

Modern common rail engines are more prone to issues that can come from bad fuel unlike the older IDI engines. Hence the fuel filter's for most CRD models are more expensive than their older counterparts including the Scorpio mhawk.

But trust me, from an outsider perspective, both your vehicles look classy without the stickers.

But then, to maintain originality you may probably add them.

Hey v&v,

Where is the Okhla Bird Scantuary? Can you post directions.

Cheers
