Oh ho... congratulations Kadam Saheb. There is a thread on TBHP on the 3rd row seat which was abandoned long back. Now that you have successfully tested it, can you pls provide technical details, where you got it done and detailed pics pls???

Sidcruise79, isn't the left Hella lower than the right one? i think your bracket is wonky it's tilting to the right by approx 3 milimetres.

2 years, 20575kms on

Our Safari completes 2 years today.

The last one year has seen it spend more time in parking than on the roads, hehe. Though it makes an occasional trip to hometown and back.

Got the insurance renewed with the dealership itself, through the Tata Motors Insurance initiative. Opted for United India Insurance among the list of 4 service providers. The Gold Club membership for 1 year is being offered for free along with the renewal. Otherwise, the routine free service at 30K was carried out, where oils were changed, and the final invoice was for slightly over Rs.7.2K/-.

I know. I spent a full day getting them fixed and the problem is that the place where the brackets are atached to the body behind the bumper are not symetric. I even tried putting a half washer on the left Heela, but it fell off. I guess the only way is to remove the bracket again and get it bent appropriately. Any other suggestions are welcome.... (doing all this in this summer heat gets to me)

Sid.

I don't think you have any other option, unless you get a bull-bar installed.

Whatever be the quality of the track, it sure was interesting driving. Surely you will be remembering this route when I may ask you when going to Kerala!

Have some more pics?

Nice pics Riju. Not to mention that the ones I have seen at your desk are good, too.

Keep going...

Some pics from my side in a loooong time.

First Safari on Earth to have a bench seat in the third row, and has succesfully completed a 900 km run last week. Good seat for a 5.7 ft adult and a kid, also could sleep comfortably well long distances.

Though the seat is not 100 perfect, but practical and comfortable. Still has some amount of R&D before it gets a final fitment.

Pavanji,

Just a friendly reminder for the details on the 3rd row seat in your Safari..

Please post interior pics, the design details, the fabricator etc for the benefit of all BHPins. I am sure you would do it once the design is finalized, but I couldn't stop myself from posting this - I have been having this requirement for a 3rd row for a long time now. My friends / family members have been pushing this for a more efficient space usage in the car. I am sure there are many folks here who share the same thought.

First thing i do tomorrow is to take out the covers on the Beast. Take some good snaps of the 3rd row seating and post them here.

Thanks DOW, I guess you are right, but I am dead against bull bars. It defeats the point of having Air Bags.
