Anything between 5K to 10K depending on your negotation skills during purchase. I got it done from Concord Bangalore for 8000 Rs and Other dealer Prerna was willing to do for 5000 Rs, wait time for Black color at Prerna was 15 days so I went to concord.

In case you want to get it done after you have purchased they may charge you anything from 10K to 20K ,

The paint Tata Moters use is from Dupoint and in case you have acess to Dupoit finish centre get it done there it will be much cheaper then getting done at dealer.

Just remember

1. Do not let them open the claddings for painting as they can not get the factory finish and some locks etc may be broken. Correct method
is to cover rest of the surface except claddinsg and roof rail with thick china paper and spray paint in a paint booth.

2. If you are getting it done out side , first find the Tata Moters paint code for your Safari and get the same paint from Dupoint.

3. Ensure dealer / paint shop provides a clear coat.

Nope. Not at all! The lights taper at the back (conical shape). So the back profile is hardly anything. They are also nearly 3 inches away from the grill. Thus, there will be enough airflow.

Another point to note: If you are mounting these lights like i did, then make sure that the metal brackets do not extend outwards till the complete depth of the inner part of the bumper. There should be a little flexibility of the bumper incase you mildly bang into something. In case the metal bracket is touching the inside of the bumper and then there is a small bang, it'll crack your bumper.

How long did it take to get it done? How long ago was this? Did you get every plastic part painted to body color, or only the claddings & bumpers?

Got it done in July 2008 , it took them 2 days and all plastic exteriors similar to EX and VX ( Cladding , bumper , roof rails ) were painted. I have no Idea about NCR but you can search at Dupoint website

Three reasons:

First: I had the 3.0 dicor... and loved it till my friend bought the 2.2 and rubbed it in my face everyday... zooming past me and etc. Kinda felt, i need a more powerful and bigger beast now...

Second: I was diving 100kms daily through not so good roads and was sure i would be doing so for 5 years. However, a better opportunity came my way and now i have to make that 100km journey only once a week. And i prefer to drive my OHC in city traffic.

Three: Tore my left ankle ligament. The orthopedic said that no way could i drive with the heavy clutch of my 3.0 for 3-4months. Used a friend's automatic accord in those days... Now am too addicted to automatics (and i was once an automatic hater!!!)

But trust you me... one day i will buy a 4x4 (albeit an automatic) and post it on this forum!!!!!
