Hey Rajeev,

Tell something about that External antenna ?
How much for that? Is it foldable ?
Cost also.

i've been looking for one as the internal antenna doesnt work well and i liked the one you have.

Also,i liked the one old model Pajero used to have on LHS fender ?

Nice pics Rajeev. Couple of questions:

1. Are the speaker boxes taking up the entire luggage space? They look huge!

2. Is that an "ABS" sticker I see on the tail gate in the first snap? Yours looks like an EX, isnt it?

Another Q on the Dicor 2.2, can that cheesy 2.2 VTT decals be peeled off from both sides without damaging the paint?

The spare wheel cover of the 3.0 with "safari" written on it, is way, way better than that of the big oversized crappy "T" of the 2.2. Am in the process of finding a similar 3.0 cover and painting it to cycus gray colour to match it up.

Those who haven't, should check this up - Mr Ram's Tata Safari Exi 4x4 [Petrol] 2.1 dohc - Safari's old looks still does not seems that dated - in fact it still appeals to me.

Picasa Web Albums - Ram

Here what is says about it:

Quote:
I bought a Tata Safari Petrol recently despite all the criticism. Its a good car, priced right and has the performance. Best on indian highways, I just drove 2400 kms from Chennai to Goa and back, and it behaved very well. It doesnt guzzle as a V6, On the highway when you are always attempting to go past the 100kmph mark - it returns about 9.5kmpl average; if you are satisfied in the 80-90kmph range it returns 10.5kmpl. That is the evidence I have based on my trip log. I could match the company of a sonata on the maa-blr highway; the merc on mlr-goa highway and the lancer on the blr-maa return, until they realised it was not a Safari Diesel. This vehicle is for the guys with more heart and less head!

Answer: Its just a dummy yaar. Costed some 100 bucks. I wanted to break the monotony on the back side so fixed it. I guess it looks very good, but that my opinion. No its not foldable but you do get them in market for almost the same price

Answer:
Ya they are huge and I designed them myself. And as I designed it, I made sure I still have enough space. You will see that the boxed of 6*9 are a still smaller and they do not come at all in the way of the jump seats. I can still open them and there is lot of space left. Moreover, The wiring has click buttons/sockets. So whenever I need more space, I just remove them and fix again later on..

As far as the ABS Sticker is concerned, Its from my cousins old Accent CRDI. he sold it and I pulled the sticker out to make my beast look more classy and attract questions and surprises

Rajeev

Yes they can be...less than 30 Secs job for a serious freak . Its a sticker so does not hurt the paint

hrag,

Way to go buddy, too sportive of you to have done something like this.

You should have atleast got the side steps removed during such attempts.

Side steps / running boards are welded in the 3.0 - I know a place in Thippagondanahalli where they can be removed with some effort.
