Seems you had not seen my posts carefully that have my signatures...

I still own the 2.0 TCIC Safari which is a 1998 model..

ADC mate I know this should be a personal question but for the benefits of members like me am putting it out on the forum: what do you do for the living? You seem to be on a constant prowl with the beast to all the nooks and corners of your habitat (read: sometimes jungles, sometimes Leh - roads or no roads!). Hail you mate!

Apologies for being off topic. But could not resist myself from asking this

Seems LX = black/gray interiors. Which looks a lot better than the tan colors we are stuck with in EX/VX but thats the trend these days I guess.

Amit beautiful ride!

Thanks Surya , harjeev and GM : Yes this is a little pimped up LX , Actually my reason for not taking EX was exactly same as above, The beige plastics in test drive Ex and Vx were looking too cheap and garish as they were filled with red Bangalore dust in the imprint on plastic surface and there was no strong feature in EX 4x2 which can not be retrofitted in LX.

I was totally 4X4 illiterate and my T-BHP membership was not approved despite repeated attempt to create new IDs for a simple rule of introduction / reason for joining being less then 40 words (my guess) so could not post my queries before purchase so compared mHwak , Safari 2.2 , Innova and Grande and settled for 2.2 Lx and decided to spend rest of budget on alloys ICE etc.

Finally my request to join was approved one month after I purchased Safari
so no initial ownership or buying exp. thread as well

The extrass in my vehicle are

1. Bumper painting done by Tata dealership (Concord Bangalore )
2. Fog lamps fitted at dealership.
3. redsoul reverse parking system with 4 sensors , Camera and 7 inch LCD integrated.
4. 3M sunfilm
5. Seatcovers done at a small shop in Koramangala.
6 ICE
- Pioneer 6050UB DVD player
- JBL 608 C components 2 pair both in front and back.
These components are 6 inch and fit safari with out any cutting.

ICE installation was done on my instructions with out any cutting etc and
I have hidden the crossover inside door pads , The cross over was set to 0 db instead of -6DB and now I feel there is too much of chan chan from tweeter at times.

Wish list.

1. Reinstall of speakers with proper MDF ring and crossover mounted properly on door pads ( not finding time to do this )
2. Roof hanging LCD for rear.
3. A car PC for rest of navigational needs.

No it was not on purpose it was late in the evening and the fellow had already installed the seat covers by the time I noticed it the fit and finish was perfect. Taking out lumber support knob would have meant another 2 hours. So he promised to do it next day. As I am able to operate the knobs from above the covers never went back to get it done.

Do not remember exactly but was around 6 K for seat covers , head rests , armrests, steering cover everything. This was for PU material and there were few cheaper options as well but I did not go for them. As I have naughty 2 year old son fabric or genuine leather were not a choice due to maintenance reasons.

What Bulbs is your car on for HL?

He's having 100/135 watt Philips bulbs for the headlights and stock bulb for high beam and 100 watt single filament Narva bulb for the bumper fog lamps.

How do i know???? I was there when it was fixed
