My brand new Safari LX 2.2 VTT BS4. Odo-814 Kms. Bought in August 2010. All stock except the ICE- a basic JVC HU (USB/AUX in) with JVC woofers in the 4 doors.

These were taken on the way to Lepakshi.

Oops! I forgot about that, fogs are not standard fitment. I got them fixed at the dealer and also the got the reverse sensor fixed.

Getting used to the excitement of owning the beast and a bit of amnesia sometimes.

Thanks for catching that.

I will be testing the 2.2 again in the next couple of weeks. If it has better bite and more progressive brakes than the 3.0, i guess i can live with it since i never crossed 100 KPH in my Safari since i feel that dynamically it may not be safe at higher speeeds. For high speed runs, i always have theSX4 which is an absolute beauty to drive
Hi Himanshu,

I beg to differ here...or probably I should say that you should feel confident riding this over 100 kmph :-)

attaching a pic...i was at 155kmph while clicking this but but the time i could get the pic it came down to some 145 odd....and it was rock solid man....I had to break soon after that as a guy came in front and i felt safe :-) and came home alive :-) and the beast let that guy live as well

Guys look at the following two pics, does it mean that upsize (255/65/R16)tyres will not work here? will it hit the fender?

Also anyone tried the above upsize on OEM alloys?

Congrats Suman...but on a lighter note, at this age of 88,888 you are no more "Da"....but rather should be called DaDa

Hi, Raj! You are doing 145 at a relaxed 2600 rpm. That is fantastic. It means engine won't be stressed much. BTW, is it not scary at that speed? I mean, body roll or tendency to nosedive on braking etc. Did you feel any of it? And what is its max? Can it inch up up to 160?

Sagar we can easily touch 160 without any strain on the engine and you never feel the body roll or nose dive, done many times on my King

I have too touched 160 many times, but the last time I touched it, a biker came from the extreme left of the highway to the center of the road just as i was about to cross him (i guess he wanted to take a u-turn as i saw a crossing in the divider) thankfully i have ABS and that helped me to avoid crashing into him. From that day never tried going that fast.

Thanx guys! Looks like I might have to join the Safari club, too. Having ideas ever since I saw a spanking new red Safari yesterday. My thoughts keep going back to it. Since I have some other financial commitments, a new car is ruled out. So, might have to go in for a used one. Guys, any idea which is better---3.0 L dicor or 2.2 L? Better in terms of performance, maintenance and FE.
