Question on the Xenons:

1. Did you get just the bulbs or have you got the projectors as well?

2. How is the lighting - is the beam clean (as in, the low is effective without causing discomfort to others while the high is good enough to light the road ahead without lighting up the whole countryside)?

3. What brand and rating have you used?

4. How much did it cost and where did you buy it from?

Just the bulbs as with the projectors the cost was a lil too prohibitive

When i keep it in low beam yes it does not cause discomfort to other drivers, i've driven infront of the safari in the accent with the xenons on low and perfectly normal, the beam has a nice cut off and lights up the road well. When on high beam ... look out it does light up the country side and cause the driver infront discomfort, but then again u will use highs only when no one is infront of you and you need better visibility

Guys,

I wanted this thread to be a catalog of all TBHP Safari's and its discussion.

Well i can see a lot of discussion going on which is basically good for other prospective buyers.

But one thing is there are no Safari Pics coming, inspite of so many Safari's in T-BHP group.

Attaching a link to this thread, that even everyone can do, but the whole essence of this thread to have a head count of Safari's with pics and short description is lost.

Would request each and all to take some time out and post atleast 4 pics of your Safari. This would enhance thread viewing.

Lets start shooting guys.

VITAL STATS > 2.2 VVT EX 4X4

Color > Metallic mud brown color (light gold-TML says so).
Accessories > Sunfilm. Blaupunkt ICE & alloys(factory fit).
MIleage:
Mixed = 11.5kpl ( 75% highway+25%city driven with a modest foot with 100% dual ac on and within 120kph on highway)
Flatout = 9 kpl (driven flat out 100% highway 100-160kph with 100% dual ac on)

Likes:
Potential for abuse on Indian roads.
Comfortable mile muncher & highway cruiser.
Very good ground clearance.
Space and ride comfort.
Drivability and flexibility of the engine & powertrain.
Only 4x4 luxury in the price range.
The best 5 seater true suv available in India for the price.
Good ac.

Dislikes:
Pathetic steering feedback & understeer above 120kph.
Nervous and scary handling above 120kph with a light load.
Body roll like the titanic in rough waters above 100kph.
6meters turning radius.
The adjustable steering is a joke. It has barely approx 1.5-2 inches of travel.

@ PAVAN >> I gues ur right, anyone can post a link.
This thread youve started is a very good idea since anyone can get to see all the safaris in one thread rather than search the forum.

There you go guys n gals, my 4 pics. These arent the best ones ive shot but these are the only ones ive got access to now. rest are in the cam and will need to be downloaded & shrunk. Will post them later.

Regards to all.

Thank you jaysmokesleaves,

I really appreciate your time taken to post pics.

Looks like you like that color a lot, even your avtaar carries an SUV with the same color.

@jay.... You have lost one hub cap of the rear alloy. Get it back ASAP... the void screws the look.

Tu bhi lena.... compared to real estate prices Safari works out cheaper and can move around too. Give the petty, pretty hatches a miss and bring this one home.

From experience I find that it is one of the easiet colors to maintain. scratches and minor dents are not easily noticable and neither is the everyday dust and dirt. My avataar vehicle is my Prado - exact light gold color. Honestly i like the safari in black and white, but i dont have time nor the inclination to keep it as externally clean as the examples in this thread. So this color is my practical choice based on my temperament.

Well , that flew off somewhere while flying through an offbeat track . I dont intend fixing another one since that may fly off too. Coming back to looks. IMO the onliest time an suv looks good to me when its covered in muck top to bottom and when the only clean external area on the whole suv is the area cleaned by the wipers on the front windscreen. Thats when i will be satisfied and tempted to spend time to shoot loads of pics from every possible angle.

hahaha ohh!
well it was washed just that morning after 1 week of use/abuse.
And since i was posting profile pics for Pavans thread how could the real color be seen in the dirty avataar.
One of the few safari pics i like on this forum is that of ADC. the dirty look suv pics hes posted are great.

Correction HL4EVR: You mean which place did the car truly come into its own?! And for some of us, that is the best an SUV can look!

Hey Pavan, I think Anup was merely being appreciative of the way ADC's Dicor looked in all its muddy glory.

Don't exert yourself matecheers:
