And I was driving :P

4H once while going through knee deep muddy slush sitting in the Safari seeing an Innova going at the front spinning it wheels all over the place. The guys came out and started pulling the Toyota while we just ploughed through without even a hint of trouble.

4L twice coming down and going up very steep and tight hairpins while taking three point turns just 2 kms before chandertal. And while coming down it was just a matter of half a foot and it was a certain plunge without anyone ever noticing that something has gone down. While backing up for the 3 point turn on the way down the Safari was spinning its rear wheels not backing up because all the weight was at the front because of the steep gradient and darn gravity! Again 4L, the front wheels came into picture and we made out alive!

This is the 'tricky stream' that Suman is talking about. The pics were clicked while coming back, down and in no rain so that means the water stream was very mild and gravity was also at our side.
Now imagine doing the same slope going up in heavy rain against gravity, water rushing from the top of the moutain due to rain and melting snow to form strong whirlpool currents and you get the picture right!
I had to half-clutch even in 4L to climb out.

i wud suggest u stick onto the OEM headlamps. if required put hella white fog lamps as an addition, they wud solve the purpose much better.

Bangalore - Mangalore trip

A few of the pictures taken during the weekend, during the round trip.

Trivia: Car has done about 4600kms till date (about 4 months since purchase now). Fuel consumption measured during the onward journey with AC was 13.6kmpl. The consumption would've been a little better had it not been for the poor condition of the roads between the Hassan - M'lore stretch. Also, suggesting hatchbacks, and sedans with low ground clearance to avoid the Hassan - Sakleshpur - M'lore stretch, until the roads are relaid.

The Place of Worship in one of the snaps is located between Nelyadi and Gundya, and about 120kms from M'lore. Appreciating the idea and craftmanship of the people involved with the construction. The sight itself induces serenity.

Hey ReachMash and Kamat, Very nice looking Beast KING.

ReachMash which Michellin tyre is it ? like MXV8 or AT.

Did they cut cladding or anything in Safari to fit the alloy/tyre ? or Alloy is 7 inch width may be because I heard 8inch Alloy it won't fit into Safari so easily.

Kamat how is beast performance with AC on? in ghats.

Regards,

Ravi.

Thank you, rjstyles99 and ravibhat! Makes it appear like the car has been "gifted" from the Supreme Being. I believe so, as owning this one was not even in my dream till then (my dreams almost always ended at the Sumo) . The snap could have been taken better.

Hi ravibhat, the car performs very normal, and overtaking too is not affected. with the AC turned on. Can't say the same about the Indica though.
