Manu, these four fog lamps you've put up front:

1. Are they Auto-pal?
2. What intensity/wattage were the bulbs?
3. I see clamps being used. Did the lights shake a lot when on the road?

Appreciate your feedback. I have been contemplating for long a set up like this. Please let me know where you got the clamps done and how much they cost you.

And, splendid pictures. I have the same Scorp Refresh as you have. Are you not considering the same lamps as aux-lamps on this one?

I would say additional lights though!
Where did I buy – Scrap yard, Mysore.
Lamp shell – INR 250 X 4 (Originally made for Shaktiman trucks, green color, new and packed with broken beam)
Beam – INR 200 X 4 (Appox life if sparingly used – 1.5 yrs)
Bulb – INR 250 X 4 (100 / 130)
Clamp – INR 500 with paint
Labor/wire etc – INR 2000
Total – INR 5500
Advantage – Switch between high and low beam, low cost
Disadvantage – None
Do the Lamps shake? Nop, but will have to get the nuts tightened every 4 months, at least.
Why have I not put them on my new Scorpio? – Requires at least 2 days to custom build them. No time.

Bulb – INR 250 each (100/130)
Clamp – INR 500 (Custom built)
Wiring - Labor with accessories – INR 2000
Total – INR 5500 for 4 Lamps!
Advantage - Your get high and low beam for all 4 Lamps
Disadvantage - Beam life will not be more than 2 yrs
Total output: You can imagine! (6 lamps with 100/130 bulbs)
Total amount works out this friendly only if one is ready to spend a day or two and get things done in front of you.
Now its been 6 months I have a new Scorpio and dont find time to add all the jazz
Nice. I need to see the light assy closer to make out the difference between them and regular auto-pals. I am sure the glass is a lot tougher. Are these ribbed or focus/clear glass lenses? Do you have any close up shots?

Secondly, how did you get high and low beam actuation? What button or switch did you use from inside your cab for this?

Thirdly, what music system were you running in your car? I am trying to figure out the total load on your alternator with all of this running. This becomes very important if you are running the aux lamps for extended periods of time.

You did not answer my third question in my original post above Did the aux lamps shake when on the highway? Do you have a design for the clamps you made? However strong they are, they will still be loose at the top and will shake. I was gearing up to fabricate a "light-bar" as I am against the use of Bull Bars.

Normal 2 way switch (guy said its imported sir!) but it never gave me any problem for 3 yrs! Had it mounted at the place where we now have the beam adjustment scroll.
Audio Sys - 1 Pioneer DVD HU, 1 Mono amp, 1 Stereo amp, 2 Subs, 2 tweets, 4 normal 2 way speakers and Reverse Cam with on mirror display.
Never had a problem with Battery or alternator, negligible concern was the lamps used to dull a bit with more bass around.
Lamps would never shake. The clamp/bar was so strong that it would take a person’s weight. However, they used to get loose in an interval of around 3 to 4 months.
Hope the close-up will give you a better understanding.

wow! Manu- there is something that looks fantastic and the fact that you have given all the details- it looks all the more beautiful. I too wish to add 2 additional lights in vehicle in the same position . Sometmes in rainy season, I find myself struggling to see the road and I am sure it will help better.

Manu, this is a light-bar So good, I am in the right direction. This will NEVER shake. Individual clamps will shake.

I think I am on my way for some fabrication. Want to meet up sometime to discuss this for both our scorp's? We could have it done together. I can throw in a drive in my Willy's PM me your details.

Hi Manu, I have a copy, will try to scan it and upload for you. But would need to wait till the weekend for that. Parallely you can write to Mahindra Customer Care they will send it to your Dealer.
