hi guys its been a while but to cut a long story short
1- booked a 4wd scorp in January 2010
2- was house hunting at the same time
3- sold my old scorp a month after the booking
4- during the final stages of home purchase my loan eligibility was cut by a very humongous margin
5- cancelled the booking of the 4wd
6- weeping ever since (wish i had sold the diesel swift instead)
7- rejoined a vessel
8- just got back
9- will be rebooking in January 2011
10- will probably be weeping until then

the good news in all this is that i will be getting possession of my house soon
but now although i am the proud owner of three parking slots in mumbai i dont have any cars to fill them up with hehe

to dr. kamat
the scorpio does look better after you painted the bumper and yes the missing logo does look odd so please add one soon the car looks incomplete.

shako if you are serious about a sunroof for the scorp' then go to Webasto. They are professionals when it comes after market power sunroofs. Shoddy jobs from local shops are available for cheaper prices and mind you if you are looking at one from Webasto then their prices are upwards 30k plus.

raj that's the most hideous looking scorp' I have seen and the sun roof could have been done much better.

no idea about the quality of the sunroof buddy, i am not a fan of sunroofs, given india's climatic conditions! he asked for a pic to decide, i showed him a pic.

Thanks RJ for your suggestion on Webasto.

Raj is this available in Scorpio, apart from xtreme ? If yes, how can I get it on a new Scorpio ?

The sunroof is the kid's choice in the car. And personally speaking, its better to have my choice (Scorp) around the kid's request for the sunroof, than nobody's choice Captiva around the sunroof.

@ shako: No, its not available in scorpio. As RJ suggested, webasto is the best option then. they are like the experts in sunroof installations.

nice clean silver scorpio

but without offence - I would knock off the bull bar and the rectangular yellow fogs if I were you.
Raj is right about the logo - it looks odd without the logo.

no logo buying equals no logo stealing if all of us do not replace the stolen logos the demand and the consequent thefts would go down thats the funda

Unfortunately the vehicle looks without an identity without the logo. The best way would be to shun the cheaper alternatives and buy from the A.S.S., but still who knows what is the procurement source there too.
Despite all the hype and efforts we haven't still been able to kill video piracy, logo theft is a much smaller racket

a racket is a racket just because the video piracy cant be shut down doesnt mean the logo thefts cant be shut down. if all the members decide not to buy the logos it should make a difference . as far as the'' IDENTITY'' of the vehicle is concerned which everybody is harping about it still and always will look like the scorpio not a ferrari or a aston martin and its never going to be mistaken for a beauty like a sierra so chill.

Rightly said Raj, it is after all a question of personal opinion or choice.

As far as the identity goes, if the logo didn't mean a difference the companies would be saving some bit of cost by not be having them at all .
