Surprised that M&M could not deliver a 4X4 in 2 months! My wait for 4WD was just about 6 weeks, here in Delhi.
Last 4 months( read since Feb 08) 4*4 is not available in Mumbai. Getway is available with factory in 4*4 option manufatcured 2007. I confirmed booking for SLX 4*4 in Feb and then they regretted.

NBS at Mumbai is exploring and guessing possibilities of getting a 2008 mfd 4*4 by Oct 08 in case, M&M starts production/ assembly of 4*4 again. Just for your info.

They will not deliver the 4WD on time. they will make it available only in the base model.

I feel mahindra should try to understand the urban SUV users better.

Yes. Interesting observation and an equally interesting effort on mansidea's part. So...is it too inconvenient to get the pillars painted black?

You use the word 'painting'. That would be quite a job, to do neatly!
I've seen many vehicles where some sort of adhesive 'tape' has been used to get the effect. Does NOT withstand close scrutiny!

We'll just have to ask mansidea how he did it!
And him being an 'audio systems' person (not an 'audiophile'!) what system does duty in that beautiful SUV!

hey guys, pls advice...
i love the black pillars in mansidea's scorpio and was planning to do the same in my scorpio too. but then i noticed that it looks good because he has got dark black tints on his car. my tints are not that dark, they are of the reflective type (garware classic), so will these black pillars look good on my car too?

Yes, Raj, they will. There are many variants of various cars that have these black pillars and they do not have the dark tints. As you know dark tints are not permitted in most cities.

loved it badboy !!!
i can now think of customising my car by first trying it out in MS paint!!!

well, i think i should go ahead with the black pillars.

thanks anup.

the only reason i am lazying around a bit for such modifications is because the car was new and i thought let me keep it stock for some days to get the feel of a new car!

Mansidea,

Your scorpio looks awesome. I loved that color combination in the scorpio but don't think they offer it any more :(

Infractions: 0/3 (12)

in most cars with black A, B and C Pillars, the job is done using a black adhesive tape.
Even in the Swift VXi and ZXi which started this trend off in a big way here, this is how it is done, only, because it is done by the company people they do a pretty good job of it.
