Not good enough, Raj. Why didn't they go for the RFID based iCATs type of security system in the first place?!
Maruti Suzuki is giving it even on the M 800.

thats true, i am sure we would not mind even paying the dealer if they can get it installed.

what i meant was, atleast now mahindra is taking an effort to educate customers about this feature and willingly changing their security codes.

Good news, Raj.

This is a definitely a very good move from Mahindra to at least react to the reports and ensure some peace of mind for their product owners.

Since M&M have acknowledged the issue, my guess will be that they might also be looking at how it can be solved with a better system. So, maybe, we might have something in this line of iCATs in the future.

Hi Raj,

Have you got it done.

Can you PM me the process.

I was there at the Dealership for nearly three hours, got the gear lock installed but forgot to have the code changed.

good move from mahindra, i think finally they reacted to all the reports about scorpios getting stolen.

Shocking!

So here are some scans; these should be sufficient, though I'm not at all sure whether the same system is being fitted in the mHawks!

You're welcome! You owe me one!

All users ought to be able to alter the settings as and when they please. I'm still shocked that M&M are not providing the user manual for this system!

i'll soon be going to the dealer to see the xylo, i'll have to ask about this.

about the change of security code, if it can be done by the user according to the instructions in the manual, why is the dealer requesting us to bring the vehicle to them? also, i tried them when 'getsurya' explained me the process long back, it did not work in my case.

maybe this is the reason:

Hi Anup, Thats useful info. I had this manual with my Crde but not with mHawk.

Raj, the first setting by the M&M need to be done to activate the system(which I think is called as company set)and then we can personalize the same!!

Hi, you are right, I checked with my Dealer also, they said, there is no separate manual given for cars where the Security System is factory fitted.

The user manual & the CD hardly provide any info on the code change process.
