Hi, Thanks for the wishes.

Another couple of days more to bear as I posponed the delivery to this week as the registration will be done by tomorrow and since I decided against taking out the car out of the showroom without plates it rests there.

The pooja & the "Technical Delivery" was done with yesterday..so lord Ganesha has the Truck to himself for some time.

Hi Raj

The new vehicles have this cup redesigned and they are smaller. I understood that user feedback to Mahindra prompted them to change this. In fact all models now have a smaller cap/cup.

cheers

That's actually a nice thing. I didnt like the design where it used to jut out.

thats good. and do you know the reason for this change? also, is the central cup in your car a seperate plastic unit or is it a part of the alloy wheel itself?
i have always liked that cup projecting out but its made of plastic and it can break. when i enquired, that cup is not available easily in the market. so in a way, its good that this change happened.

raj, i was told by the sales guy that the feedback was that the cup break as they wheel hit the kerb/pavement very often. I did not pursue this as i did not like the older design and was quite happy with the change. i think that the cup is fitted to the wheel and not part of it. I need to check this.

While at it, can you confirm

- that the door open sensing is only for the 4 doors and not for the rear door. i was shocked to see the rear door not closed and no warning.
- reserve warning resulted in filling 37 litres (23 left inside) once and 47 liters (13 left inside. I understood that the first warning is when the range is 100 Kms or 10 litres. I guess the car is only a few weeks old and hence these are not very accurate.
- my son broke the latch of the front panel of teh music system. it is working now by wedging a paper underneath, but what would be the damange to get this fixed? can i do it outside of mahindra?

cheers

I seem to be the only laggards among the Scorp owners here....exactly 1 month today with my VLX and stll only 700 odd Kms on the clock...

I need to go on a long drive to actually test the truck, till now it has been only office trips and ocassional trips to locations within Navi Mumbai.

Even my car has the integrated cup in the alloy, in fact I had specially written on my boolking form that I would not like to have the jutting plastic cup, which I have seen broken in many Scorpio's (including the TD vehicle at the dealer).

One query - I do not get the door open indication on the dashboard, even though I get the audio warning for all 5 doors.

The fuel reserve warning is indeed not vey accurate, and the fuel gauge is not too friendly either.

yes sir, the door open warning is only for the 4 doors!
the reserve warning has a specific schedule which is very clearly specified in the manual. unfortunately, i never allow the fuel meter to go that down and so i have rarely heard the reserve warning!
i think its not possible to get it done at mahindra. they will advise you to replace it. you have to get it done at a local car accessory shop.
