Dear Anup,

Thanks. I have fixed up with the dealer on Sat to have all these things checked, which have started appearing after the first service 3 weeks back.

I hope all the issues are well covered under the warranty.

Mine is a mHawk Vlx so the Nippon syatem is factory fitted.

I did another round of "testing" on the gear slippage issue. I put the car in the 5th & on to cruise control, and within 500 mts the car started losing speed as the gear had slipped to neutral.

While I write this another issue that I have found today:

While parking I could hear a lot of creaking from the front wheels while turning the steering like something is broken or struck (tic tic tic kind of noise). I was in neutral & turning the wheels to reverse.

1) The pads/shoes seem to be suspect here.
2) Front dampers probably need replacement.
3) Try changing the battery on the remote. Also, possibly relocate/reorient the Nippon control box, if your system is a retrofit. If OEM, the position ought to be correct.
4) Gears slipping might be as simple as an adjustment of the actuating lever, or it could be a serious problem within the gearbox. If it is the latter, insist on a replacement of gearbox! Never heard of such a problem before, for Scorpios.
Do keep us updated.

I'm guessing you are refering to the RR job on the Scorpio.

I nearly crashed my mHawk on an oncoming vehicle at Panvel early in the morning today. While overtaking a Bus the gear automatically slipped to neutral from the 5th & the car lost power. Some hard braking on my & the oncoming Bolero's part (ironic) saved the day, though the choisest expletives from the Bolero pickup's driver still ring fresh in my ears.

I formally raised the issue with M&M on mail & their helpline, at least the customer service is friendly & attentive, I got an complaint number on SMS & a prompt reply to my mail, stating that the Area office would be reverting to me soon.

So for the time being the 3rd & 5th gears are out of action till I see the Dealer tomorrow.

My only hope is that they ae able to diagnose & fix the issues.

mupreti, sorry to hear that. Please drive carefully and slow till the issues are sorted out. In fact drive straight to the workshop and leave the car with your complaints.

Dear getsurya,

Thanks. Infact I planned to do just that, but unfortunately the fuel shortage has put the autos in my area out of action, the bus service is not too reliable & the rly station is a bit far of.

So I am taking it real slow on the left side of the road till tomorrow.

Gosh, Upreti, waiting eagerly for an update after your dealer visit today!
How one thing leads to another! Gear slipping out at a crucial juncture can indeed be very dangerous!

posting a pic of my scorpio, nothing extraordinary though!

finally, got the vinyl issue solved. (for the latecomers, the vinyl which was used to blacken the pillars could not be pasted near the third window and was giving it an incomplete look).

it took quite an effort though and lots of time too.

the rear glass and the black strip (shown by red arrow) had to be removed too.

M_Upreti, waiting for an update on your machine! I am indeed very keen to know the outcome. Would hate to see a dis-satisfied or 'let-down' Scorpio owner!
