edit:
Besides sand is very abrasive and it damages many a moving part. (Visualise sand-paper)

nice pic

some small points you may want to consider

1. Water has a habit of getting into the wheel bearings sometimes
2. Water gets into the disc brakes
3. Sand abrasion on your disc brakes can be seriously bad
4. Electronic fiddly bits can short circuit and stop working
5. Sea water is highly corrosive

Basically if you do indulge in this kind of recreational stuff, then please ensure the car is taken quickly after the activity, to a regular high pressure water wash place and ramped up and thoroughly cleaned with fresh water. Else you can be letting yourself in for some seriously big bad bills!

till post #1993, rj was really cool & happy.

then onwards, the kind of posts which started bombarding, rj must be having nightmares by now. i bet he is lying under his scorpio now wondering where the sand & salt water must have gone.

kidding buddy...

Honestly pal, not at all !! One dip in the sea and don't tell me your cars a goner. LOL it takes a lot to believe that . So does every other car simply rust off in the coastal areas ?

From where my mom hails(cochin), even the backwaters are salty. Does that mean every car in the vicinity is gonna rust and then owners are gonna end up with a hefty bill ? We have a baleno and a viva at my mom's place which is still hale and healthy even after 5 years of usage in close proximity to the sea. Occasionally taken to the beach for some fun. I am yet to see any form of failures on both the cars as mentioned by some members in the last few posts.

From their POV, I can understand their concern. But that's when you do such a thing often and I am gonna seldom do this.

BTW for those of you who dint know. After the beach fiasco I drove the scorp' for 350+kms and then parked it for the night. Gave it a super wash the next morning. Its been over 2 weeks now and I am yet to see any form of rust. So peace .

Great pics rjstyles!! I'm running out of words to praise you and your Scorp. Yours is one of the best scorpios in this thread. Everytime you come up with some pics, I spend hours looking at those. BTW, who took these pics?
