Thanks Anup. I wanted to know whether a 6.5" mid bass will fit in there. doesnt looks so.

Thanks Raj. I have the components fitted in the front door itself even though there is no provision. Like this..

Safari, here I come??!!!

And what speakers? 6.5 inch units can be fitted with a specially made mounting ring which, of course, will protrude into the cabin!

I checked scorpio's door size . but not decided yet.

Thinking of Alpine SPX 17PRO. That too not finalised. Just researching with the help of gurus.

I'm curious raj_5004 & mansidea,

What paint would be used to do the pillars ? Regular or the matt finish black type ?

Ok will do next time...thanks for correcting the post. Incidentally, with us newbies, the post gets displayed on site only after the mod has approved the same (which is a good thing) ...by which time I have possibly logged off and may not be logged on again within the stipulated edit time period after display. Hence the option to edit is lost.

If responding to this note from Support is considered 'off topic' (which I guess it is), no offence intended, I just thought I should bring it to mods notice the reason for not being able to edit.

Please feel free not to post this message on the forum.

And once again, thanks for correcting me.

Posting appreciated and I also got in time to edit !!!

So that would be like the old american/english cars exterior roof material ? If so, would'nt it crack / peel in changing weather conditions (hot sun / rain etc.).

Also, how would you manage to get a clean finish along the edges?

Would'nt paint (sprayed on crinkle matt black would give you a similar finish as vinyl) be a better option? Also would be easier to apply and be done in a couple of hours.

I lean towards sprayed on crinkle matt black as I have used this on a vehicle and the stuff lasted as long as the rest of the body paint.

Update on pillars painting

Was passing through Marine Drive (South Mumbai) and saw in the Mahindra showroom there a Scorpio with black pillars...and the black went all the way to the end of the sides ie. from the side mirror covers to the roof water drain collar and till the tail lights. Looked nice...will have another look and maybe get it done to my Scorp.

Oh wow !!! I have become a BHPian. My post was displayed immediately...very thrilled !!!

Yep Anup, except the mirror attachment to the door panel was also black and in your picture can't see the rear end so can't be sure if its the same and where the cut off lines are. Can you manage a picture of the rear end ? Thats where the lines get a bit difficult in deciding where to cut off the black.

Will have another look later this eveing and try and bring a few more details.

Don't know if its against etiquette (Mahindra pov) to post pictures of the car on the forum, else would be happy to.

Is the light bluish tint on the front alloy a refelction or paint?
