I am right now resisting an urge to sell all my portfolio, and book losses.
But there is a small voice in my head which says "Stop looking at your demat account for 3 months". Forget that you own any shares.

I hope it does not go tumbling down all the way to 10,000!

I think one should not urge to sell all his holding at this particular time, one should have patience and deal tactfully rather then been nervous.

Tanveer, i had similar thoughts in the May-June 2006 correction, if you don't need the money urgently and its a part of your savings, then let it stay.
In your words, forget about them for a few months.

Proxima, if you're confident (and havent bought on rumours/tips) about a scrip (any scrip), take delivery and let it remain for a few months.

RNRL was a short call today early in the morning from the charts for a target of 160 odd. Appears it has reached today itself. great news. Sorry being sarcastic, but charts tell us like that.

It has started recovering after BSE stopped trading. currently trading at 1280 points down. An upward movement of around 800 points from days low of 2062 points.

I thought the correction was predicted to be around 18000, now its 17605 .
Should have sold some earlier and bought them back now . Many have already gone below their 52 week low.

BTW, what created today's mayhem in market? Any ideas. I entered the market (RelCap) at levels of 2100. Now it is down. Should have waited for some time. My mistake.

Anyways, I have decided not take out until the market goes up. Let it take years. No problems.

I heard this happened to short selling by brokers. People standing with margin money could not pay up in time and the brokers had to short sell. That is what I heard from a source.

Was it the Rel Power IPO effect ?
