Re: Do you play the stock market

Just a few minutes back, I submitted my bid for 100 shares of MOIL @ the cut-off price of ₹ 365 under OFS. The retail investors will get 5% discount.

Re: Do you play the stock market

Crossing posting from the Ignis thread

Quote:
Maruti Suzuki's Ignis, a likely winner from the country's auto giant- some analysis!
Link

- the introductory launch price for Ignis, profitability of the car will be significantly lower than for Maruti Swift .

- expect the company to raise prices after assessing the order book( Petrol variant?)

-Break even on development cost when Ignis hits cumulative volumes of 200,000.

- Diesel variant will likely be significantly more profitable.

- Estimates the company will make a blended Ebit of ~R44,000-69,000/vehicle on Ignis Delta/Zeta variants versus ~R75,000 for Swift once Ignis achieves cumulative 200,000 volumes.

-Estimate the company will likely sell 90,000 units of Ignis in FY2018 (60,000 of petrol and 30,000 of diesel variants) - (Real facts seems more for diesel though)

-Ignis could cannibalize a bit of volumes of Swift and more so of Hyundai's i10 volumes.

Waiting period:

The petrol variants of the Ignis have a waiting time of up to 8 weeks while the diesel variant now has awaiting time after booking of 12 weeks.
Link1
Maruti remains, much like Eicher, a very strong compunder belting one hit after another. With Ignis, Brezza and Baleno selling like hot cakes and new Swift expected to bring in good numbers as well and GST tailwind to impact in FY18, this should be another good year for MSL on the index.

I did the same precisely.

Also, BSE issue is going to be oversubscribed by over 50 times.
Should open at a premium of Rs 150 to Rs 200.

I applied for 1 lot each from two accounts (wife's and mine).

Re: Do you play the stock market

I too applied for BSE IPO.

With such high levels of subscription, getting selected in lottery allotment will be tough.

Hi,

Read this wonderful quote today

"The investor rides along in a sidecar pulled by a powerful motorcycle. The more the investor is distinctively positioned to have confidence in the driver’s integrity and his motorcycle’s capabilities, the more attractive the investment" - Harvard University’s Professor Richard Zeckhauser

Thought this is very apt for motorheads who like investing in stocks

Happy Investing

Re: Do you play the stock market

I wanted to ask this question to the experts.

I often find in the market depth columns just 1 share for bid or ask.

I am not being judgemental, but I want to know why they trade in just 1 share? Is there something more than meets the eye? Am I missing something here?

Do they include these transactions in their tax returns? If yes, it must be a lot of paperwork!

Hey Vindy!

Welcome back. We were missing you on this thread as the 'driver'.

Considering the upcoming budget, there is lot of noise generated around a market crash. If that happens it should give us ample opportunities to go fishing.

Got one out of two.

Hope its bumper listing.

My plan is to sell in the initial euphoria and then buy again when it settles at lower range.
