Same here, shares that were worth 8 lakh around 6 - 7 months ago are worth a relatively measly 2 lakh now. Of course, these were bought over a decade ago for a litlle over 5000 Rs!!

I will start investing one 8000 is breached.
As for bottom fishing, I guess 6000 is a realistic level in today's scenario

Well, the market is expected to stay nearabout the bottom [whatever it might be 7-8k] for a while, it won't jump back to high levels instantly.

So its better to wait it out till that point and then dive in.

My guess is that the market will touch around 7000 in April 2009 and then stay around 8000-10000 till the next two-three years.
After that bull run will start and by 2016 the Sensex would be touching 30,000 levels.

2016 is just 8 years away. That's the only real way to make money on stocks. History has proven that any short term investment will give you average or no returns at all, unless you are terribly lucky.

Is that 2016 target based on some kind of 8-year boom/bust cycle trend i read some where? Nice try though...

Adding another guess here... bottom might be at around 8k.

Bonus?? What bonus..Ahh.. that explains it!! My Portfolio thingy didn't account for the bonus shares. So the loss of value isn't that bad, only 65% instead of the earlier figure of 80% !!

I'm not so optimistic about that.

But if it does
1) It'll be B'coz of some US fed reserve action (if any happens today)
2) Or it'll fall even worse on tuesday!

Watch out for US markets today, This'll be the first time US will follow us.

I guarantee that the sensex will not fall by a single point on tuesday. I am willing to bet on that
