Need ideas and advice for a website

Hi guys, I need your help for a website that I am in the process of making.

The theme is "unmistakably Indian", ie, on seeing the website, one will know that the matters discussed are predominantly Indian.
For that I depend on the header image, which rotates on each page load.
The background of the header is of the Indian tricolor.

1.What I need is the names of things that are "unmistakably Indian".

They can be names of actors(Amitabh Bachan), sports personalities(Tendulkar), freedom fighters(Gandhiji) etc.

2.I'd also like suggestions on how to place them on the header.

Two images that I created are attached. Yeah, they look crappy, but that is the best I can do

Some mere suggestions!

Don't forget to add TATA, Nano, AutoRickshaws and lots of people!
Please keep away the hunger and beggars out whatever you may! Our country isn't all of that alone as many others picture it to be.
Anything bollywood will be unmistakedly identified. Some humming background may also work.
Pictures of Redfort/Tajmahal/Gateway of India/Famous temples.
Unmistakable folk dancers like kathakali etc..
Don't fill in with too much flash/animations. Remember it's not TV.
Avoid popups as much as possible because it gives a sense of insecurity and loss of control over what you do.

Thanks for the ideas Zak. Dont worry bout the site, it wont have flash or popups. Dont think it will even have ads

The only "animation" will be the different header image as each page is loaded. After the page is loaded, nothing else is animated.

So I think
Films - Bollywood, Kollywood(?). Amitabh Bachan, Shahrukh Khan, Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan
Sports - Sachin Tendulkar, Sania Mirza, Vishwanathan Anand, that Rathore guy, Leander Paes???
Dance - Kathakali, Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattam, ???
Automobiles - Maruthi 800, Tata Nano, Autorickshaws
Places - Redfort, Taj Mahal, Gateway of India, (Temples, Churches, Mosques, not much idea)
People - Abdul Kalam, Mahatma Gandhi, ???

Please feel free to add more categories and names

One more thing,
Should I use one strong image on the header, maybe with the name of the item and small description,
or
Should I try to fill up the header image like I have done in the examples above?

Business. Think Ambani, Tata, Mittal, Nooyi?
Nobel Laureates. Amartya Sen, Tagore. Don't use Mother Teresa though. Pls.

And Srijit, don't make any spelling mistakes! Especially with names, for eg. it's Amitabh Bachchan.

I have also finalised the format of the header images. One bold image, the name of the item and one line subtitle on what the item is. Like the ones below(though without subtitles). Also need to make the tricolor more vibrant.

I need HQ images of Aishwarya Rai in a saree or traditional Indian dress. Not see through, not transparent, but a proper one.

Names of film's and links(if possible) highly appreciated. (I dont watch many films so I dunno where to start, tried Google images, but most of them are not suitable)
