Congratulations to Abhinav Bindra!! Yeh Dil Mange More.. Rathod its now your turn.
By the way did anyone notice Difference in color(saffron/orange) of our flag one in the hands of Rathod and the one being carried by other players apart from outfits of sania and Sunita Rao.
This really shows the casual and non serious approach of officials of IOC.

This is really great going by abhinav bindra. I happened to see the entire event live on DD sports. The way he kept his cool on the last shot was really good. And it was a proud moment to finally see the India Tricolour on top, with Jana Gana Mana playing.
Oh and Saina is in the quarters as well, beating the world no 4 en route. Good day for India!

Well This was what we wanted and i do hope that our great mantris do realise that if we want to get medals than we should stop playing politics and start providing some sort of facilities to these guys.
The main reason for countries like china russia and romania win in sports like gymnastics as these are non commercial sports and well thses countries are basically Communist govt which provides strict schools where such events are given really good focus.
Why dont we start encouraging kids to take up events like shooting or archery as we can do well in such sports. Its all about mental fitness rather than athletics or gymnastics or swinning.
The amount of politics in these are disgusting.
Monika devi tests positive days before the event to get a clean chit after the games start.
Boxers are given wrong kits with tight shoes. No wonder the match was stopped in 3 rounds itself. I pity Dinesh.
Hockey has been treated like some sort of family buisness where the sport is secondary to anything.
I was shocked at looking at state level gymnastics equipment. Pathetic. Unless we take issues seriously nothing can happen.
Rathod who got a silver in the last olympics was not in a limelight as much as our cricketers pony tail was. Even when they have never been selected for a test squad they make news.

Congrats bindra once again. You seriously made us proud and hope that this effort doesnt go unnoticed

Great news in the morning!
We should get at least 3-4 medals this time around. We stand a good chance in Badminton as well.

India bags an Olympic GOLD medal after 28 years!

Lets congratulate Abhinav Bindra.

Although we have another thread available for Olympics, I certainly feel we should need a new thread for this man.

Abhinav Bindra won India's first ever individual Olympic gold medal on Monday with a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the men's 10 metres air rifle event.

A friend SMS'ed me about this an hour ago. This is indeed great news and a proud moment for all of us. Atleast we can come back from olympics with the tally showing a minimum of 1 gold medal.

Was checking out the country wise ranking everyday.
And today, I was highly surprised to see India in the list. A little more searching and apparently, we've won the Gold in Shooting.
After Rathore and Bindra's medals, I think we need to concentrate heavily on shooting since we seem to be good at it.
