I think India Hobby Center would be the place to check.

Way back when I was in college I dreamed of owning an RC plane. But imagine paying 15K for a small one 10 years back. The planes are handmade and sold hence the cost is high. IHC were located on Commercial St. in Blore. Not sure if they are still there or have moved.

I would still love to own one but where do we fly them?

I know a guy who has a couple. He has got a Cessna, and also a big helicopter. The helicopter was bought from outside India. It was pretty costly. Chennai should have better prices, so also ask around there

Hi,

Before you go ahead and put your money on a R/C airplane/helicopter, do read extensively on Radio controlled (R/C) aircraft. You will get extensive info from wikipedia. I believe piloting R/C aircraft requires a fair amount of knowledge of aerodynamics, aeronautics, RC circuitry and a availability of wide open spaces for the flying.
Do invest your time in research and then invest money into this expensive but rewarding sport.

Hi, in Delhi we have a group of people who fly these planes every sunday. All the planes which are available worldwide are also available in New Delhi in kit forms as well as built up by a person in Kotla. I've been into aeromodelling since 6 yrs now and it is amazing! So if anyone is interested you can PM me and i"ll give the contact details!
p.s.-all electric as well as Nitro powered aeroplanes/helicopters/cars.

check out Tower Hobbies - Radio Control ( R/C or RC ) Cars, Trucks, Airplanes, Boats and Helicopters to choose what you want!

That is true. The helicopter is massive, both in terms of size and cost, nearly 50K

Same here in mumbai too. There are a group of Pilots that go to a Malad Makeshift AIRSTRIP made specially for their planes. I have been there a couple of times but only during the night.
You need to be up early on a sunday to actually see these flying machines.

Sunday morning you can catch these guys at Mahalaxmi Race course also. There are as many as 40-50 pilots there. I have also had the pleasure of watching the turbine propelled aircrafts there. They are fast, loud, powerful and expensive.(1L +)

The Radio / Remote Control aircrafts/helicopters Thread. (RC)

Mods: this is a branch of the R/C thread. Please merge if necessary. This is not a trade. just sharing info based on the R/C passion.

Guys, I had a friend who had a RTF(Ready to fly) kit up for grabs.
I say RTF coz
*aircraft built (but not glued)
*engine mounted (only tested)
*radio system included (Spektrum DX 7)
*optional starter kit included.
These kits come as ATF (almost ready to fly) but here he had mock assembled them.

Items:
*Calmato (kyosho 40" size Plane)
*OS 40 AX power box (engine)
*Spektrum DX 7 (with 4 servos + batt pack and chargers for TX and RX )

The above combo had only been set up but never flown.
The condition was like new coz none of the above mentioned items had been used on the field, other than checking if it's working.

I decided to pick it up.
Any Tbhpians into Aero R/C please put me on your list.
R/C is a rocking hobby. for some it's an illness

Mods: Please merge with The Radio/remote thread if necessary. Aero is just another branch of the same.
