A couple of shots of penguins at the Woodland park Zoo, Seattle.
The second shot found it's way into National Geographic Society's Daily Dozen feature. Quite glad about it!

Couple from my side: Critics welcome

Some details on the Shot: This pic is of a Juvenile Bald eagle taken in the Northern NH, where bald eagles have been endangered for a while. There is one pair of Baldies in this area and is under conservation, this one is the offspring of the couple and you can notice a blue tag on it. I am very much lucky to have spotted this in the wild, similar to how hard it is to spot a tiger in India. Many of my co-workers mentioned that most of the americans will never be able to see their national bird in the wild, unless they travel to alaska..

Nice one of the juvenile bald Eagle. It's amazing how they change the color of their head to white as they mature!

A Sumatran Tiger acknowledges my presence. They are a critically endangered sub species that inhabits the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Their numbers are still dwindling down in the wild.

Just wow. That's an amazing catch. Can you give more details like where this was taken in what condition?

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

Paired my Raynox DCR-250 filter with 18-55mm kit lens on my K-x. Managed to get this one decent macro from morning walk around the apartment.

What do you think?

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

Finally got a chance to visit Bandipur and Kabini over the last weekend. Been quite a few months since I've been out and the camera hadn't seen much action since December.

My favorite subject - Changeable Hawk Eagle. They're really magnificent raptors that can kill even a small langur for lunch.
The Official non-auto Image thread-a29y2048.jpg

An agitated jumbo trying to scare away the egrets and storks from the water body. Most of the jumbos and gaurs were looking pretty weak given the scarcity of food and water this summer season.
The Official non-auto Image thread-a29y1860.jpg

And finally, the trip paid off with this handsome male cooling off at a water hole next to the Mananthvady highway.

Awesome picture. The tiger seems to be pretty angry.. What lens are you using? The Whole tiger seems to be in focus giving it a great picture clarity.

Bald eagles are such a majestic bird, I think they are the most beautiful birds of prey ever. The mature ones did not even come closer to me, I barely managed a shot with a huge crop on that one.

Check out this link if you want to see some majestic shot of these birds taken by Paul Randal ( SQL Server Storage engine guru)
