thanks Tguru! actually the pic was taken early morning in poor light with the canon hanging dangerously low over the foul smelling water. I upped the brightness with picasa because i wanted to bring out the colours of these frogs.

they are tree frogs i think!

Mods, is it ok to put up the original of this pic to illustrate? or shall i stick to the processed one only?

That would be incorrect. The Mysore Maharaja never really fought the British, he never had a chance. The entire Mysore royal family was under house arrest by Hyder Ali and later Tippu Sultan for 50 years when British warred with Mysore. Sultan Battery is obviously named after Tippu Sultan, I think he had a fort/barrack there. After Tippu was killed in battle, the maharajas came under British rule and remained so until independence.

That's because all digital images do need PP.

The image right out of the camera would have received the default PP from the camera processing engine, whose IQ is no match for the Photoshop or any PC based PP software.

@hkanitkar- have been trying to get some nice pics of a hummingbird in action, but unsuccesful so far. damn thing never sits still.

@torqueguru-my frogs are prettier than yours
what background is it sitting on? do you have a side on view of the same guy? I'd like to see the eyes in more detail.

there's a bit of blue and yellow on the underside, and judging by the feet...its another tree frog?

I might be wrong on this, but that is what was told to me by the tourist guide. He event took us inside the temple and showed a locked room on weapon storage
