Superb pics indeed!.

BTW, is it a good time to go there? I purchased a tamron 70-300 about a week back and am dying to try it out. Looks like its time to go there for the weekend.

Anyway, first shot with the tamron 70-300 (I paid 5K for it and I think its a super lens for the price!)

Yup. The birds are still there.
Also make sure you reach there by 8 (before the crowd comes in and scare the heck out of these birds) and hire a boat of your own(250Rs for 30 mins!!).

Can you give me the detailed specifications of the lens F-stop and all. Besides I dont think its IS and at full zoom, in anything less than perfect lightening conditions, the pictures wont come out sharp if taken handheld.

Here you go:
AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD 1:2 Macro; Tamron USA, Inc.
It is 700-300 f4-5.6.

Why care for IS when camera body itself has it?

Like I said, for the price you pay, its an amazing lens, however if you expect performance of a $1000 lens, you might be disappointed.

If the picture looks so good, I can only wonder how awesome the view standing there would have been like.

My first post here

Hey these images might seem pretty silly compared to other pics on this thread but thought I should get started. Clicked it on my new n95 8gig during the IPL game this Monday..Wasn't thinking of composition on this shot at all. This is my first attempt at post processing using gimp. The second one is the post processed..I did a auto white balance/colour>levels/unsharp mask.

I have spent considerable time going over forums and I think this is a pretty ordinary effort. I would really love to see whats the best that can be made out of this pic.. can someone please make an effort?... Riju sir, Samurai sir?
