Rudra, how did you get that view [the first of the two beach shots in Karwar]? The island is right at the top of the frame. Were you standing at a height when you shot that?

Adya, very intresting shot: have you captured that in other angles too ?

That's a great composition Adya33, if that was shot in raw, Rudra could have spun his magic on it. But avoid centering your objects in future, it is better if they are off-center.

Rudra, I told you the bottom half was too dark, he too can't make out you were right on the beach.

Yes its is too dark... But, between 2 LCDs, i tried, it was visible in one and not in another. Increasing the brightness or contrast didnt help. Guess this is more to do with the capability of the monitors. If possible will check with some CRTs...

@ samurai,Condor and gkrishn, bottom half is dark indeed. It was shot around 6.45 in the evening. BUT, I can still see details on my monitor.

Condor, it was shot with 20mm wide. Keeping that island on top and just about avoiding my feet in frame. I was standing on the beach and not on any higher plane.

Here are a few pictures taken by my brother while he was down here. All taken by a point-&-shoot Canon IS800 (I think!)

danlalan, really nice one. Cut the sky as much as you can. It's not adding much to the picture.
