Well did you try in car gorillapod shots or something?
Does he have to when he has the D3s with it's amazing ISO capabilities?

Marty says hi too all. Tried using a DIY softbox to defuse the light.

No Gorillapod used. It was hand held. I would have loved to have used a slower shutter with a gorillapod, at present I do not own one, but I am working on making a car ring for that kind of stuff. I just havent found enough time to dedicate towards building it completely.

@Hellwrath
Thanks. And yeah I did shoot it at high ISO.
Exif:
Exposure: 0.05 sec (1/20)
Aperture: f/2.8
Focal Length: 14 mm
ISO Speed: 4000

Another one, from the same lens.

@Pramod : Tell Marty, Preetam says "Hi!"

@Hkanitkar : Love that last shot! Just wished that it was a bit more sharp!

@TG : Stripes or no stripes, will do away with just a mustang! I so hoped that this shot would be of that car or another mustang which you might have shot! Great shot nonetheless!

Umm, you haven't seen his test shots at 12,000 ISO (approx) yet I presume . Welcome to the new world of high ISO shooting (something that I miss and envy). A line I remember someone saying "With the advancement of technology and the user needs, pretty soon we might have the base ISO at 6,400 and a 20 stop ND filter will be bundled with the camera ".

Wow TG, Brilliant shot.
If I use ISO more than 400 in my sony H-10 I get all Smooth Edged image with a lot of Noise.
Does the noise depend on different camera models? or there is some trick?

@Bandhav
Yes, the iso performance of the D3s is noteworthy. I shoot a lot of night stuff, so it comes really handy for me.

Here are a couple of high ISO shots, pointing out the fact that Hellwrath told you. Here is a shot that was clicked at ISO 102,400, purely for testing purposes. I dont really shoot this high at all. My usual range for most part is between 200 to 800. No post processing done what so ever.
The Official non-auto Image thread-4190362689_aa832d4c60_b.jpg

And another one at ISO 12800, shot in very murky lighting inside a club. One good thing is that, I dont have to carry around the flash.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

@bumblebeast
I too have a sony DSC H50 point and shoot as well. I too never shoot with it above ISO 400. Noise is dependent on the size of your sensor, larger the sensor, lesser the noise. Digital camera typically have sensors smaller than those in a DSLR. And in DSLRs, full frame DSLRs have sensors larger than crop sensors. So a solution to noise issues would be upgrading to a full frame DSLR! You can also try out a software called noise ninja, I see good output from it even though I have never used it.

Regards,
TG.
