Do you want it to be abstract?

Guys, abstract is not the same ink-blot test. The idea should come first, composition next, clicking+PP comes last. In other words, abstract shouldn't happen by accident, it should happen by design.

Samurai

I'm
What i understand from your statements is that for an abstract pic the subject has to static like the pics u had posted earlier (tender coconut on the ground & small plants growing on the pipe edge)

Coming to birds

I don't know its name but the wrinkles on its face reminded me of an elephant's face!

Thanks hkanitkar!

Not a good composition this shot, but I was surprised to get this result at ISO1600 from my humble A-200
The Official non-auto Image thread-dsc08685.jpg
210mm, 1/100s, f/4.5, ISO1600

I felt ISO1600 to be better than ISO800 in this case. ISO800 had more noise because of more exposure time required - the light was low.

No.. that's a wrong inference. For it to be abstract, it has to mean something, preferable something profound. First you want to think about what it means to you, before you compose and shoot. Static or dynamic doesn't matter.

For example, when I shot this photo, I wasn't thinking rain. It made me think of somebody who gave up against extreme odds. Here the flower lost the battle against the rain and gave up. So I can titled this one as:

Defeated

TG,
What an awesome shot. I like the way you're leaving out the titles for your photographs these days and every photograph tells a story in itself. And a story that is different for each and every one, totally dependent on our perception .

I had one awesome weekend @ Pondicherry/Thiruvannamalai despite the heat/humidity, all thanks to Shaju and Unni. Watch out for this space for some wonderful photographs by these two.
