Is it handheld ? Sharpness is badly missing ! I think such shots would blow the minds away if taken on a tripod with a higher exposure time.

(for non-Christians: First Holy Communion is an event where a child receives Jesus for the first time in the form a bread. Official dress is full white and its that way throughout the world). This could probably be the only image in the whole world in this color combination !!!Its 50mm f/6.7, ISO-400, 1/60 sec, bounce flash from ceiling with a SB-600
Nice! Thats sort of fun attire though. Where's the original angel?

It is a low angle shot taken at 10mm. Here's another view of the bridge

Except the last one overexposed, others are sharp and lively. Whats your cam ?

Its a spiritual and special day in a kid's life !

Nikon 35mm, f/1.8, 1/60 sec, ISO-200, Flash OFF. Lighting in a church is always tricky and direct flash was spoiling the images bigtime, bouncing off the side wall and ceiling was out of question as it was far. The only solution in such situations (according to my real-time experiment) is having a 50mm f/1.4 and a 85mm f/1.4. Both are jewels in such indoor shoots.

Note: Riju, this is your church dear

KP, Navin - Awesome shots - clear, sharp and simplicity personified.

Shaju - RC or LC church? I have not seen little girls so decked out during a confirmation. Atleast not down south. Great shots.

Answer might sound funny but true: Its a RC church but this particular service was LC administered by the Archbishop of Bangalore. This is first holy communion and confirmation put together, and the dress pattern is the same I have seen in the last 30 years

@Shaju, OT: I have seen girls wearing that dress in Pune and the north. Down South, atleast in Kerala, it used to be some paavada thingie. But then I might be mistaken.

You could be right in the interior areas of Kerala, not anymore in the towns and cities ! The US and European influence is so high (almost every family has someone working there as a nurse or software line). Not forgetting 1 out of 10 slogging in the 'GELF'

Above image is from Bangalore city, so as a rule, it should be something what you see in Mumbai, Pune or Delhi ! By the way, boys were in full suite, I dont have any images to show.
