Thank you. Nice shot. As a humble suggestion, you could have underexposed a bit to get some detail in the sky.

Thanks Shaju. Lovely bokeh. 35 1.8 was used here? Surprisingly, he looks to be all happy and smiling in that shot!

Nice pic! Did you use the 55-250? Somehow i found it difficult to shoot the moon with 55-250. My old S5is had better reach.

@jacs: Thanks brother! I've waited long enough.
@anvancy: I am not qualified enough to say anything about your macros. Just that the first shot you posted on this thread blew my head off. I'm a fan!

Preetam, this is tooooo good . I agree that the watermarks have taken the sheen out of it, can you repost it without too many watermarks or have only one at the right hand bottom of the pic? Thanks.

Obviously YES its 35mm f/1.8. He looks happy because I was doing the same hide & seek game with the camera, although I didn't expect any decent shots. May be the metal pole spoiled this image.

35mm, f/1.8, ISO-100, SB-600 from side. Focus is purposely not on the finger nails, because my model insisted a manicure, which I had to deny

Wow some stunning exposures here and shaju, CD, advancy great work!!

I aquired the 50mm 1.8 'nifty' yesterday along with 3 'close-up filters' (cheap pieces of optic).

Need to really gain the knowledge of shooting with primes. The closeup filters are really not of much use unless you can shoot a controlled subject, I was out in the park around sunset with a severe breeze and results with a 55-250is is good for macro haha.

My initial findings for the 50mm 1.8 is that at 1.8 aperture its very soft, needs to be around 4-5 range for a sharper shot. But this is also heavily distorted with the close up filters.

Was the 600 diffused or flashed bare?

Thanks Shamik.
Anvancy, its bare flash, I dont have a diffuser except the 7X4" one for macros. So, I use mostly bounce-off wall, the piano image above is bounce off ceiling. Not a perfect shot, but I am learning through experiments. In both violin and piano shots, fingers are the focus.
