@Shaju,

Nice picture of the boat. But the sea and sky are looking a bit odd. The sea because of the green cast and the sky because you do not see that formation of clouds near the horizon at least.

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

It will not look odd when I master the tools of PP in the near future, until then it will be puzzles mismatched here and there. By the way, dont break head on color part, its 'color processing' experiment on CS4. Sky is very plain and boring, so clouds are borrowed from another shot. Now you have the responsibility to protect me from purists

It is very easy to figure out the sky is from another image. The same cloud pattern won't go down till the horizon like that..

Hey Guys

@Pramod: Is that Bhimapalli in a few of your night shots at Vizhinjam? I have never been to that place yet (shame that I did not get an opportunity yet). Love the shot anyway.

On that note, I guess Spidey was trying to crawl this one up, right ?

@Clevermax: You are one fantastic photographer! Would love to meet up with you and all the cool Tvm clickers at some stage .

@Nutty: Azhimala has been one of my favourite spots, kind of calm and serene still. A couple of photos from Azhimala that was shot some time back.

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

@shaju:
Oh ....

@fotomaverick:
The last shot is of the Museum right? I used to be at the LMS Wills Hostel which is walking distance from the Museum for three years - 1994-97. Never saw the fountain working in all that time.

Great shots btw. Did not know that the N72 was this capable.

@extremetorque
Which camera were you using. Most of your shots seem to be at the extreme telephoto end.

This is the mosque at vizhinjzm, not beema palli.

Shot from the top of the light house.

@Saju

These 2 pics have the sky replaced in them, the first one is a shabby job but the second one is flawless(as per me)

I am a novice in these matters, so I cannot protect you.

Post the original shot with some play on saturation and contrast. My guess is that it would look superb. The area around the boat has been very sharply captured.

Lovely wide & tele shots of the mosque. Just requires some PP to remove that haze.. And looking at this 200mm shot, I think the Minolta 70-210 beercan is much more sharper than the Sony lens @200mm!!

Replacing sky for me is a very difficult job because it requires quite some effort to get the right look... If you are replacing sky, don't just cut and paste another sky with a bad selection and normal layer blending. Better way is to use a blending like multiply and use a gradient layer mask or an appropriate layer mask to smoothen out the transition. There are better methods, may be PP gurus can explain more.. TG?? BTW, it is not really PP, but compositing...

@fotomaverick: Thank you very much! Yes we can meet one day! I am sure pramod, nutty and all would like to meet up.
