Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

Normally I don't do candid of unknown people, specially in a City. Firstly I don't find street photography that interesting (but I love your street shots TG, they are really good) and secondly I probably don't have the courage to click photos of people I don't know. The only place I'm not worried of pointing my camera at unknown people is probably Ladakh. There people will return a nice smile whenever someone points a camera at them.

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

Street Photography can become a pain on the wrong side with certain photographers as it happened with one of our group walks 2 weeks back ! This boy was crying for that tele lens thinking it was a 'pichkari' (water gun) used for holi festival My friend did not have a clue how to handle the situation, specially with that rented tele lens !! Anyway we got enough things to pull his leg whole day !!

Thanks, The pic is tone mapped, I really wanted to show the art work general public does on these monuments, I live in Trivandrum, its chitral and the mountains behind are eastern ghats not western .

Ahhh okay. But I think you are wrong. Check up on Google. The Eastern Ghats do not extend all that way South.

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

@Evo8
The challenge is in being within the subject's personal space and yet getting the natural shot. It has always been a challenge hence photojournalism following the photographer's ethics is not the easiest profession. It's about being an invisible yet visible artist.

@pramodkumar
I will come to kerala n prove you wrong, the next time I visit.

@Manolin
I have never visited Karakoram, this place i visualized purely in my head, glad to know that there is an actual place that you can identify it with.

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

The image was taken near Pune. Thought its heavy on blacks, I wanted to throw some light on the Ganapati and use dark sides for better highlighting. May be I could improve it further. The image was converted to B&W and then the sky detailing was done in LR.
