Thanks Yajaman, its a D60 with 70-300 VR lens. Learning through the fun-filled way !! Here is another smooth landing, preparing a take off and a rough take off ! The blueish tint came through processing !

HW,

Thanks. I went there by 530 pm - just as the sun was starting to dip across the horizon. The result: some interesting silhouette photos during the setting- but no usable pics later since the sun dropped with extra gravity!

Saw a couple crocs prowling around stealthily in the water but couldnt take any snaps in that lighting.

Here's the last of those silhouettes from that day:

I wouldn't be surprised if the response was YES I had polished it. The ole birdie sure has a wonderful eye for compositions.

veeresh I used to have one of those lenses earlier and found it to be a good investment in the sub 15k range of tele's. Worth the money, however sold it off for a 70-300mm VR.

Riju,
Yep. Pretty good indeed, but if things go as planned I think I'd probably invest in a 100-400L IS or a 400mm f5.6 or a 300mm F4L. When I have the funds, I'll deal with that confusion .

Pawan,
The composition in the second photograph is just mind blowing. Love it man!

Ladies and Gentleman, presenting Unni, our model for the day. And I can't stay away from close ups, so the second photograph is that of a red dragon.

@HW: Did you soften the face in the portrait? Looks a bit too blurred at some places. The background is a bit distracting as well...

Some change from the birds, before someone starts yelling "stop stop stop" !!

This is Dr.Venkat from AP, we became friends very soon, he swapped his 80-400 lens with my 70-300, fortunately we then spent only an hour more around the lake, unfortunately not a single shot came in focus from that lens, I had to do everything manual as my D60 didnt want to cooperate with a 80-400. Lessons learnt the hard way !!! You can check more about him at www.wildlifephotogallery.com
